Dear Jeff:

Its amazing that any state, particularly one such as Alaska which is the XLIXth (49th) State of the United States & is one of only II states not attached to the main XLVIII (48) contiguously & fully joined states has such a rich history.

V. Alaska is the home of former Governor Sarah Palin. She ran as the Republican Party Vice-Presidential candidate on a ticket with Senator John McCain, Republican-Arizona as the Presidential candidate in the MMVIII (2008) election cycle IV the Presidency of the United States, this ticket lost to current President Barack H. Obama, Democrat-Illinois.

W. Mount Denali at 20,320 feet is both the tallest mountain in Alaska & in North America.

X. The state insect is the IV (4) spot skimmer dragonfly.
