Dear Jeff:

A father & mother are surprised their teenage son became a drug addict & eventually died in the middle of a school day at his desk from an overdose of pills he had taken the night before at home. The parents never expected this to happen as the boy never showed any signs of being high & did not have a broken home or a bad upbringing. He seemed so normal. Sadly, Sergeant Joe Friday of the Los Angeles Police Department has to be rather matter of factly when he reports the death & offer up a tough commentary to shake the parents out of their stupor. He doesn't want to, but he has to in order to get the dead lad's parents back to reality & normalcy.

"Maybe that's why it happened."

The Truth Above All Joe,

Rory
