"Will The Senator Yield The Floor?"-Lisa Murkowski

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #6, 14504-108 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5N 1G8

December XXXIst, MMXV

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed.. MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

Turning now to The Last Frontier State of Alaska on this the last day of the calendar & Senator Lisa Murkowski, we see that Lisa is working on the matter of preserving Alaska's & the world's oceans. The Senator realizes that the Alaska fishing industry needs these oceans to be safe & secure as well as other state tributaries because the fishing industry feeds their families on the sea creatures that are caught. Without healthy oceans, there won't be fish for students in the future who want to get into commercial fishing as a career to eat or for anyone who wants to enjoy fish. As well, wildlife like bears won't be able to survive without fish, thus wreaking havoc on the ecosystem of the Earth.

"We know less about our oceans than we do about outer space. We know less about our oceans than is really acceptable, because without healthy oceans, we do not have a healthy planet."

Rory

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

For Arizona Congressman Matt Salmon, we have an explanation of his congressional work in speaking against human rights abuses by the Chinese government against their citizens. A fluent speaker of Mandarin Chinese like my brother who resides in Beijing, Matt really has a strong interest in the Asia-Pacific area of the world. Of course with Pres. Obama & the threats of a new world order, martial law, & a gun grab, the United States Of America is even more repressive of dissent than Communist China.

A one time welfare recipient, Gwen raised herself up to the top of the political ladder by getting elected to the House & raising III kids on her own. A true American success story!

Dear Dave:

Having been sworn in for the first time on January IIIrd, MMXV, Congressman Dan Newhouse of Washington is definitely "new" to the "House" Of Reps. So Executive Dissertations asks Danny to explain a new ideas he has to our readers & as a farmer by trade he believes in fair play by farming families & by governments that oversee farming rules, not crap rules like the recently passed Bill VI (6) here in Alberta.

Dear Dave:

As the Former District Attorney of Nassau County, New York Congresswoman Kathleen Rice chats with student reporters on ensuring their safety & that of their families at airports. This makes sense for Kathy to be involved as she knows that in the criminal justice system, the people are represented II separate yet equally important groups. The police who investigate crime & the district attorneys (like in her former job) who prosecute the offenders. So airport safety legislation is key for families.

"As several recent incidents have shown, weak access controls can too easily allow airline employees to sneak weapons, drugs & other dangerous items into secure areas of airports & onto commercial flights, & that's a risk we simply cannot accept."

December XXVIth, MMXV

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

Continuing the fine tradition of Kennedy public service that has included a President Of The United States Of America is Congressman Joe Kennedy of Massachusetts. Today, Joe talks up legacies or cornerstones. Some of these "cornerstones" led to his grandpa heading the Justice Department & his great uncle being the XXXVth President. Even another great uncle being a senator, the other chamber of Congress & his father Joe Jr. & other relatives also having served in the House. So Joe establishes that legacy once again by adapting it to education.

Dear Dave:

Whenever my late mother, Mrs. June C. Koopmans, B. Ed. sat down with us kids to watch the Original or Classic "Star Trek (TM)", she was always struck by the performance & planning smarts of then Lt. Commander (later Commander, Captain, & Ambassador in subsequent film & tv appearances) Chief Science & Ist Officer Mr. Spock, as played by the late & great Leonard Nimoy. She would call Mr. Nimoy's performance of the character: "Classic Spock!" So this is why I borrow ma's reference for the title of her blogs this week as I fully agree. Spock liked to plan & be logical & as a result, it seems logical does it not that Ma would plan out lessons IV her students in Grade II at Afton Elementary School. An Editor's Note: We of course write this entry in Vulcan green blood script colour.

Dear Dave:

Congressman Hank Johnson of Georgia makes a statement on the importance of arts through $50,000.00 grant he got a community centre & town for Georgian arts students & families in his district. This is great because they can spend it for the development of creative & cultural talent.

"I can't think of a more deserving community to receive this boost than Clarkston & the Community Center in particular. As a gathering place for art, education, recreation & community building, the Clarkston Community Center is a model for embracing diversity by celebrating the richness & strengths of so many different cultures."

Dear Dave:

Senator Jeff Flake of The Sand Hill State of Arizona takes a look into the issue of how hard firefighters & emergency services personnel work. Sometimes even giving up their lives, even as volunteer firefighters to strained budgets. Here Jeff talks to their children & families of XIX (19) dead Arizona firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice in order to save many other lives with a glowing & respectful tribute, especially at this time of year when so many families are struggling.

"To the children of these men, carry deep inside you the knowledge that they were as proud of you as you were of them."

December XXth, MMXV

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

California & its Congressman Tom McClintock are stating what needs to be done in terms of criticizing Former President George W. Bush, Republican-Texas (Retired) over a federal funding model that has failed students & family in terms of accountability. Party dissent seems to be more tolerated down in the States.

"It requires a more honest accounting of student performance, which is likely to give parents ammunition in demanding local school improvements."

Dear Dave;

Congressman Bruce Westerman of Arkansas steps up to the podium & speaks about dyslexia. A definite huge deficit comprehension disorder that affects many students. I myself have Aspergers Syndrome or high-functioning autism & cannot count in numbers past the number XXX, as a result, I do my counting & dating in Roman Nvmerals & then convert back the solutions to numbers.

"It is estimated dyslexia affects one out of six school children."

Dear Dave:

In Committee, we have Congressman Paul Gosar of Arizona asking the question of how resources in the Grand Canyon National Park can be used to stop the destruction being caused by a hybrid called the "beefalo." This is an animal that is a combination of buffalo & cattle. Its a population causing significant damage to the ecosystem in the park & surrounding areas & should be a huge concern to students studying the environment.

"The "beefalo" overpopulation is a problem that is causing significant damage to park resources."
