My late mother June would have been absolutely disgusted by the brutality & viciousness of those Grade VII students on the bus in the United States. Mom was also a 68 year old grandmother & retired teacher like that school bus monitor. She would have cried had she seen that video.

At the same time, mom would have cried tears of joy IV what that Canadian young man did in getting funds together IV the school monitor so she can retire in dignity & with her head held high. I IV one am proud of that gent & hope the school bus bullies get a suspension & ordered II perform community service.

Dear Jeff:

Sticking with the Atlantic Canada theme, we see god awful road maintenance in the great Province of New Brunswick. A school bus driver illegally crosses inII opposing traffic lanes to avoid jostling students & having them thrown around the inside of a bus by huge, crater-like potholes. A parent filmed this, & now the New Brunswick government has sheepishly ordered in repair crews II fix the trouble spots. I am proud of this parent & I am proud of the bus driver! The driver shouldn't be blamed IV taking a risk, s/he is trying to prevent cranial & other such injuries to the students in his/her care as school buses do not have seatbelts. This of course is II get students/riders out faster if a school bus overturns. It was explained II me by the Former Premier of Alberta, Don Getty as the main reason his belt legislation didn't include school transport vehicles.

This School Driver Should Be Awarded A Safety Medal IV A Job Well Done In Putting Students Ist,

So scientists (& their student aides) from the Massachusetts Institute Of Technology (MIT), Brown University, & NASA's Goddard Space Flight Centre to study the 3 billion year old Shackleton Crater located at the South Pole of Earth's Moon. Its approximately XXI km's wide & the evidence garnered here would suggest it could contain ice. This would be an astounding discovery IV the students II have helped their handlers find, after all the world's H2O resources are like anything else, finite. So new H2O resources from anywhere/any source are helpful. The next key would be to find a way thats cost effective II get ice back here IV sale & IV free to poorer nations thats commercially viable & that will ensure the ice doesn't melt on the journey back II Earth. Scientists used what they called a "laser altimeter" to measure changes in the crater's overall change in both size & brightness, definitely an extraordinary project IV geo & astrophysics students II be involved in.

Students of world economics & the machinations of world finances need II take a look at Greece. Now that they havve had their IInd set of parliamentary elections in VI weeks, its a fascinating case as II see how the new Greek MP-Elects work on solving their debt crisis? Will they take on more European debt, will they say screw you to the Euro as a currency, then abandon their debt, & go back onto to a seperate Greek currency? Also, what party's will be part of the new coalition & who will be in the cabinet. Also, will the differing viewpoints of different party members be papered over with fair compromises II all IV the Greek peoples & Europe as a whole? Or, political science students might chime in at this point & mention that with another minority party election, if all party's fail, there could be a possibility of a IIIrd election writ.

As we celebrate Father's Day IIday, let us remember the importance of the male in the household. In terms of a child's social development in their formative years at school, its very impoortant that they have both positive male & female role models in their lives. Even if they are growing up in a household thats say run by two wives, or a single mother. Again, even if there isn't a dad around, IV the female parent/guardiasn, its important IV them II show their kids how great the ideas of men are & how they can enrich their lives as kids as they start on their educational journeys.

Dear Jeff:

Once again that great son of Manitoba, radio/tv host & newspaper columnist Mr. Charles Adler has it right on the money. Chuck stated earlier this week in his Sun newspaper column that the Montreal high school teacher who showed the video of Luka Magnotta killing, sexually abusing, & chopping up of the body of Chinese student Jun lin in his class should be fired. I for one vociferously agree & the teacher was in the end shi*canned.

If the teacher had sent home notes asking parents if their child(ren) in his class could watch the video to show how awful it is, then I might not have a problem with it being shown in the context of being a historically speaking awful modern day crime. Tag on getting his school principal's & his school division's trustees being asked II give permission & he might have been okay in holding down his job. The teacher was fired & thats great b/c why would anyone glorify murder II high school students who are of course rather impressionable? Who knows, some of the students might see the video & start thinking thast maiming/killing other humans is no big deal, like a picnic in the park. Its just beyond sick!

Walter's a straight man who is awaiting gender reassignment surgery & as such goes by the female moniker of Juanita Diane Blake. Walter/Juanita is making gender reassignment surgery & being comfy with those that are different of paramount importance. Students who might &/or do have gender issues or are scared of the LGBT community can now learn from Walter/Juanita that its okay to be different.

This is why I respect the decision of Fred Horne & Premier Alison II fully restore gender reassignment surgery. Fred as Health Minister & Alison as Premier are showing that they care IV folks of all community's & truly want to make transgendered Albertans a real part of the mainstream. So a Kindergarten class has banned "God Bless The USA" by multiple Grammy Award (TM) Winner & country music singing sensation, Mr. Lee Greenwood. June XIIth, MMXII

Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Athabasca-Sturgeon-RedH2O

Dear Jeff:

So I hear there are pressures on teachers & staffs to up grades from say XX to XXV% or more, even when students don't deserve that consideration, evfen at points when they haven't hadn't in an assignment/test. Well as General George S. Patton, Jr. used to say: "thats a load of horsedung." If a student(s) do not do the assignment/test, & especially if they have been given extensions w/o penalty, they should be given a grade of 0%, thats ZERO%.

You don't see me saying well I got "only a 72% final grade in Art XXXI (31.) I actually deserve a 85% grade!" No, I didn't earn 85%, I earned 72% b/c I inadvertantly missed part of one assignment that would have put me over 80%. I decided not II do it b/c I was still going to get the V credits for the course. Other students shouldn't follow my example & expect II be rewarded. If I got a 0% in Math 30-1 on assignment, I'd live with it & try on completing the other assignments II the best of my ability b/c thats all I can do.

"I'm Gonna Bring Bobby Down, Even If I Have II Destroy Ewing Oil II Do It!"

June Xth, MMXII

Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Athabasca-Sturgeon-RedH2O

Dear Jeff:

Bravissimo IV Bravo Television, TV Land, Turner Network TV & CBS TV. The epic story of the Ewing brothers & their sons is being brought back with the return of "DALLAS", XXI years after it left the air. A show that should have never been cancelled. Business students & graduates with business degrees take note, the show focuses on the battle IV control of :"Ewing Oil" between brothers J.R. (John Ross) Ewing The IInd & Bobby James Ewing with J.R. representing the evil, & Bobby the good of business.

J.R. played ever so deftly by Larry Hagman is trying to get John Ross Ewing The IIIrd (his son) to gain final control of Ewing Oil, the family ranch, plus all the other assets of the Ewing empire. Brother Bobby Ewing  (played by the superb Patrick Duffy) is trying to do the exact same with his son, Christopher Ewing. In business, such as in life you need both good & bad to meld inII decisions that are IV the common good. The irony is J.R. & Bobby fight, but they are both Ewings, as are their sons. So at the end of the day, they are stuck living in the same house & at points must work together for the company's well being, even if they later go back to feuding. I mean that has got II make Jeff I think IV some interesting dinner conversations. Basically, it shows the function & dysfunction of the Ewings, & students should realize they are just like any other family.

It also shows that no side should have any tactical advantage/disadvantage over the other, in this way, each side has a 50% chance of winning or losing. Throw in archrival ol' Cliff Barnes & J.R.'s ex-wife Sue Ellen stirring the pot against J.R., even though it could affect her son's chances of gaining majority control of the company & you have one hell of a mix!

Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA

Dear Jeff:

This Bellerose Composite High School in the St. Albert Protestant Schools Division seems like a great place. I am truly impressed with their website & the professional way in which they have set up their summer school. Just like St. Albert Outreach Protestant High School & St. Gabriel Storefront Online Catholic (Public) Cybernetic High School, Bellerose is ensuring that its students receive the best of instruction.

It was pointed out to me that schools themselves cannot independently fundraise, & that it takes a lot of parental involvement II cover off shortages. That tidbit was provided II me by the excellent Principal Graham Jackson of St. Albert Outreach & I thank him IV it. So if St. Albert Schools in both divisions are having trouble raising cash with parental fundraising committees, why not form a super committee, 1/2 Catholic, 1/2 Protestant?

In this way, only 1/2 as many parent volunteers will be needed & a bigger funding potential opens up. Each side only gets 1/2 the revenues generated, but each side then only has II bear 1/2 the costs! Both divisions are "Christian" based, so why not work in "the spirit of Christ" himself? In these tough economic times, this might be a winner! Adding Bellerose & other bigger schools to the initial smaller online/outreach school parent fundraising grid will only make the message spread further & faster.

Travis Kennedy grows all manner of fruits & veggies in his home backyard & then sells them at the CXIVth Street Grand Market each Thursday. Travis has little sweetheart (& may I say cutie) of a baby daughter tag along with him in his yard so she can keep an eye on daddy & make sure he is doing a good job!

Horticulture students & those folks interested in growing & Canada's agricultural sector need II take note. Travis is setting a good example IV his child & for other children of how Mother Earth can be nurtured in a safe & respectful manner!

Beyond Awesome,

Rory

Dear Jeff:

As we honour the sacrifices of Canadians & Allied troops on this the LXVIIIth (68th) Anniversary of the D-Day invasion of France & simultaneously celebrate a very well done LX (60) years & IV (4) months (so far) of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The (IInd) Second in command of the British Empire, Canada, & her other realms & territories with her steady presence on the Throne, I say we must tell students II venture back in time to WWII. It was Her Majesty's father, His Majesty King George The (VIth) Sixth that gave her the confidence to reign supreme b/c he did it so brilliantly from MCMXXXVI (1936)-MCMLII (1952) when he overcame his oratory difficulties & helped rally the British people's against Adolf Hitler & his Nazi threat.

One of the people he gave confidence & strength to with his tough character was the current Monarch. Her Royal Highness at the time gave war time speeches to youth to give them hope & enlisted in His Majesty's Royal Army to serve with distinction & honour as a driver & a mechanic. All I can say Jeff is its a pity we cannot have Her Majesty around with us IV another LX years & that my mother June, Her Majesty's biggest fan couldn't have been around to see these celebrations!

God Save The Queen,

An Excuse Note IV The Ages

Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA

Dear Jeff:

So U.S. President Barack H. Obama, Democrat-Illinois penned an excuse note IV a Grade V student IV skipping school. I guess the boy's dad was introducing the President at a campaign rally. This is no excuse IV the boy II have not told his teacher in advance b/c that teacher, his schoolmates, & school staff then have to worry unneccessarily as II the boy's whereabouts.

Its certainly okay IV the boy II go see the President as part of a social studies field trip.I don't agree with the President's politics, but even I'd go II a rally with him as its exciting II see the leader of a nation up close & in person. The student in question should have gotten his dad II either phone or write the school principal in advance. Then they wouldn't have had II worry about him & he could then have told his fellow classmates all about the trip the next school day. In this way, they could all study history up close & in real time IIgether in a classroom setting.

Dear Jeff:

So some nutcase leaves a bomb & explosive materials lying around in a school playground. I feel very sorry IV the students, staff, parents, administrators at the Ecole Frere Antoine French Immersion Catholic School of the Edmonton Catholic Schools District (ECSD.)

Catholic, Public, Private, it doesn't matter the school type. The point is, students & just neighborhood residents & their family's should be able II enjoy school playgrounds as a place II relax, run around, exercise, & breathe in the nice air from the surrounding shrubbery. I cannot believe in these modern times that folks want to blow up innocent children whose only crime is that they want to be educated, grow up, experience life & be outside with their friends & fellow classmates. I am so glad no students or any other folks were hurt & killed here.

Dear Jeff:

Homework IV many students can be quite stressful as you know. There have been many studies both yay or nay, pro & con on this matter. There of course can be times when students are getting either not enough &/or II much homework. Thats of course IV both weekends & during the school week, as well as during school vacations. Of course each student has different abilities, & each student will be able handle different levels of academia/homestudy. What has II be done Jeff is that a balance must be struck wherein a level of homework that is seen as comfy IV students must be established. Have the teachers/parents/students plan homework assignments in tandem. This triumvate of input will make learning more exciting for the students & thus more fun. Its at this point that students will want II do more homework & will also thereIV become more willing II learn. Since they are helping out with assignments & creativity, they'll see learning IV what it should be: an adventure!

Dear Jeff:

So this porn start & murderer who sends body parts of a student he murdered to my friends at Conservative Party Of/Du Canada Headquarters & other points across the Dominion is on the run. He kills this innocent Chinese citizen & student who was just trying II come here & improve his life & winds up in a Montreal trash heap. I mean if there was ever a case IV capital punishment, this might be it. Maybe we could put this turd in a cell with Robert Pickton, Russell Williams, & Paul Bernardo. I bet you those III scuzbuckets would do a nice job doing to him what he did II the student.

Dear Jeff:

When asking you a question yesterday in Question Period (QP), an MLA made the mistake of asking you & talking about "your trip to Korea" (which you cancelled). There has not been a stand alone "Korea" as you know since MCMXLVIII (1948.) You as Minister were to visit the Free Republic of South Korea & not the Communist run People's Republic of North Korea. Social Studies & political science students, as well as business students should have "South Korea" listed in their records for historical accuracy & transparency Jeff. I hope you clarify this with Speaker Gene & the Legislative Assembly Hansard Staff & Clerk of the Court.

Ike Went II Korea Jeff, You Were II Go II South Korea,

Rory
