Hon. Thomas Lukaszuk, MLA

Dear Thomas:

As I type a log entry here on a day that only occurs once in every 1,461 days, I'd liked II say that Republican Nomination Contending Candidate (& Former Senator) Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania is a complete idiot! He infers that lower income class folks shouldn't necessary go II college or even trade or technical, or even other possible post-secondary endeavours. But then brags about the fact that he & many of his family members went to college. How I ask you Thomas does a candidate II be potentially the XLVth President Of The United States have the gaul II state this? This man has no class. The children are the future & I say Senator Santorum should not degrade or discourage any student, no matter there socioeconomic status from pursuing collegiate options II improve their lives, as well as those of their family's, & the United States of America & the world as a whole. I cannot stand Pres. Obama myself, but whats wrong with the current Chief Executive encouraging people II better themselves so they can make their nation state better?

As The Race IV The Presidency Marches On InII March Vote Anyone But Rick Santorum,

III dead students, II folks wounded, with possibly more reports of injury's/deaths II come. Killing so he can hurt students that didn't even affect him or even know him. Lack of parental supports. Lack of parental supervision. I am glad I don't live in the Buckeye State & attend Chardon High School in Chardon, Ohio: east of Cleveland. Thomas, this killing needs II stop. Those poor kids, not II mention the family's & friends that are left II grieve for them.

Dear Thomas:

I just dropped off a bunch of pens & pencils at Afton Elementary School b/c its an art based school & the students are just so greatful IV supplies being donated when they face shortages. As are the teachers, staffers, & parents. Now this was a great idea as these writing utensils were from politicians that I collected from various campaigns over the years & had given to my mother. So by me given the items away, I am helping students in tandem with my late mom Mrs. June C. Koopmans, B. Ed. (MCMLXVIII, 1968) who is helping the kids posthumously II learn. Very apprepro as Afton is one of the schools she tauight at in her teaching career. The office staff even showed me a picture on the wall at the school of mom when she taught there.

Boy oh boy Thomas, cancer rates are staggering in this Dominion, as well as around the world. Take colorectal cancer IV example, its definitely very treatable, but people do not always get their colon checked. Medical students in colorectal cancer studies to be oncologists, proctologists, & other doctors need II take note & encourage their friends & family members to get regular screenings & checkups. Dear Thomas:

What a shame to hear of the death of Gary "The Kid" Carter. The greatest Montreal Expo ever who sadly died way II young at age LVII (57) in the great State of Florida this past week. Gary died of brain cancer & was always filled with such youthful vim & vigour when he played the game. This is why its so sad to here of him dying so young as he had a lust IV life & baseball. Students & fans of the game have II understand that Gary not just played baseball, he lived & breathed it, every fibre of his being. All I can suggest is that if today's fans want to honour him that they make donations in Gary's memory to The Gary Carter Foundation, his group that does good charitable works to help disadvantaged kids. Its what Gary would have wanted.

Dear Thomas:

I was horrified when I heard of the two young students wearing headphones in Ontario & Alberta who were killed at railway tracks. This was b/c they had their headphones on & didn't hear the approaching trains & how bad must those conductors who killed the students must feel b/c through no fault of their own, they couldn't stop in time with the young men in front of them. Terrible carnage IV the II family's as well as they must bury very mangled remains.

We must make rules here in Alberta under the Education Act, as well as the Transport & Infrastructure Safety Acts that all persons wearing headphones must turn them off when approaching a track, &/or walking along one, or near one. When the CN/CP/Via railyards are moved once the City Centre Airport is redeveloped, we must ensure proper signage is placed at crossings warning students & others that they must have their headphones off when approaching railcars &/or tracks. This is an absolutely necessary step as their will undoubtedly be M's (1000's) of students moving inII the new development with their family's, both during the constructicon phase, & once its completed.

Dear Thomas:

While I agree with the right of the Morinville mothers to plead their case beIV the Alberta Human Rights Commission, & with the Commission's decision to hear their case, they should not as parents trample on the rights of my Catholic friends. In her spirited defense of the issue, The Edmonton Journal's Paula Simons is valiantly focusing her energy's on how hard these parents are fighting for a secular Public education system & completely seperate secular classrooms.

Yes this is certainly their right, but my friends in St. Albert Catholic (Public) deserve to remain the Public option as guaranteed by their Charter rights & Supreme Court Of Canada decisions. Having proudly attended both St. Albert Catholic (Public) & St. Albert Protestant (Seperate) Schools as a High School student, as well as Edmonton Catholic, I can truly say what a wonderful group of people they are.

With excellent leaders like Principal David Feist of St. Albert Catholic (Public) Online, Principal Graham Jackson of St. Albert Protestant (Seperate), & Principal David Nesbitt of Edmonton Catholic Revelation Online, plus amazing teachers & support staffs, the Catholic/Public reverse hybrid is unique II St. Albert & should definitely stay in place. Especially because of the great Francophonie population in the St. Albert & Morinville districts.

Yes there should be the option IV parents II educate their kids in Morinville in a secular school option, I 100% agree. But I want my friends in St. Albert Catholic (Public) to retain their rights II public control over educational monies. They do such a fabulous job that they've earned that right, as a result, the designation should never, ever be taken away!

Hon. Thomas Lukaszuk, MLA

Dear Thomas:

I rather enjoyed watching the honourable Member IV Edmonton-Ellerslie (Naresh Bhardwaj, Progressive Conservative ask you about Braemar School in his riding. This school of course caters II pregnant teens & doesn't judge them IV their condition. It just helps them make informed choices in regards II pregnancy's, both before & after the birth of their child(ren). Its also excellent that you were so ably II respond back II his question & that Min. of Human Svcs., Dave Hancock, you, & the Premier were all at the school to highlight its special status & how you can help these mothers, & mother-II-be, & their family support networks.

Alberta Liberal Member Harry Chase of Calgary-Hardisty was also adept in his questioning. His focus on making sure the funding formula IV school boards was secure by asking you & Min. of Finance Ron Liepert shows that Harry's skills as a teacher by trade wil be sorely missed in the Legislative Assembly. There is definitely no way on Earth that watching Question period on tv is a substitute IV being in the actual Chamber Gallery in real time. The Member IV Barrhead-Morinville-Westlock, Speaker Kenneth (Kenny Boy) R. Kowalski, Progressive Conservative is amazing in running such a tightship & will be greatly missed.

Finally, the focus on Family Day & activity's from 12pm-4pm on the Legislature Grounds on Monday, February XXth is appreciated by me & many Albertans. We should always be ever so thankful to Former Premier Donald (Don) Ross Getty, Progressive Conservative IV giving Albertans back the qualitative family time they need IIgether II bond, even if only IV a day!

Dear Thomas:

In forcing Colchester Elementary School down in Strathcona County, you are forcing students II be bussed out & torn apart from their family's. By being forced II go II alternate schools away from where they live, students will face longer commute times, which will mean they'll be more tired at school & at home. Thus making them want to interact in a healthy social manner with their family's and school mates as they will be facing a diminished cognitive capacity. Dear Thomas:

So father Tommy Jordan wanted II punish hus teenage aged, student daughter over standardized teen bitching about her parents. These attacks were at Facebook & sounded very much like attacks of anxiety that any teenagers might level at their adult peers. The daughter should not have shamed her family by engaging in these attacks. But the father's reaction in shooting up her laptop with hollow point bullitts & then filming the process was also despicable. What if she had been standing around the cofrner & a bullitt richoted inII her body? no father & daughter are both guilty of overreaching here equally, they need II strike a compromise privately as a family instead of airing their dirty linen in public.

February is "Black History Month" all over, including here in the Dominion Of Canada. From former Governor-General Michaelle Jean on down, black personages have made a great contribution II the Canadian multicultural mosaic (as have many other ethnic groups.) We are a richer nation in having their presence. As a white anglo saxon who is the son of an immigrant from The Netherlands myself, I can truly appreciate just what a positive influence immigrants such as yourself Thomas have had in binding this nation together! We need II encourage young students of all races, religions, colors, & creeds II learn about black history & respect it, as well as learning about their own ethnicity.
