Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #6, 14504-108 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5N 1G8

November XXIXth, MMXIV

Hon. Gordon Dirks, B. Ed., M. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Elbow

Dear Gordon:

An Editor's Note: President Chester Arthur, was one of only II men to become President despite being born on foreign land & the constitutional requirement that a President be domestically born in the United States Of America. British Subject/Canadian Citizen Pres. Arthur was born in Drummond, Quebec: while current President Barack Hussein Obama, Democratic-Illinois was of course born in Nairobi, Kenya. Canada should be proud that we have had in addition to our own Prime Ministers, a United States President & a British Prime Minister.

Looking to drum up domestic business, President Arthur tells economic students basic & commerce rules since he used to run a shipping port in New York City, New York.

"The countries of the American continent & the adjacent islands are for the United States the natural marts of supply & demand."

Dear Gordon:

Gerald Keddy, MP is trying to get students to enjoy play & healthy physical activity challenges so that they stay healthy physically in their school setting. This healthy play time doing sports & other things where you keep your body moving will help increase cognition function for classroom activities. Plus, it will allow students to bond & establish friendships.

"The Play Exchange's Active At School Challenge is a great way to get our youngest Canadians to talk about healthy living & physical activity. I'd like to see all schools in my riding take on this challenge so we can generate lots of great ideas & win this competition."

Jock Ewing Says Two

November XXVth, MMXIV

Hon. Gordon Dirks, B. Ed., M. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Elbow

Dear Gordon:

I believe Jock Ewing would have been very interested in the politics behind the floor crossings yesterday to your party by Kerry Towle, MLA, Innisfail-Sylvan Lake & Ian Donovan, MLA, Little Bow. Jock would tell Danielle Smith, MLA, Wildrose, Highwood to gut out the rotting corruption of losers & freaks like William McBeath & Vitor Marciano. Until the anti-gay & bigoted elements of the party are wiped out, the Wildrose Party as constituted (just like the epic battle for Ewing Oil) will never take "complete & utter total control" of the province.

In keeping with this theme, John Ross "Jock" Ewing Senior uses a ranching analogy when talking about politics to the next generation, his sons John Ross "J.R." Ewing Junior/The IInd & Robert James "Bobby" Ewing. This makes sense b/c of all of the ranches & farms in Alberta.

"Politics is a lot like ranchin'. Once in awhile, you've got to be prepared to get your hands dirty!"

November XXIIIrd, MMXIV

Hon. Gordon Dirks, B. Ed., M. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Elbow

Dear Gordon:

Being a Progressive Conservative elected official yourself, you understand that the Conservative Party in many nations & "conservative" focused party's in general are seen as to "pro-business" & only for helping the rich. Prime Minister Richard B. Bennett wanted to showcase the very good nature of what the name "Conservative" & what the word "conservative" stood for & that they could be good for the common man, no matter at what station he & his family were in life.

"The very word "conservative" means that we conserve all that is good, refect all that is bad, & we must use our intelligence, our intellect, our training for the purpose of determining what we shall reject & what we shall conserve & retain."

November XXIInd, MMXIV

Hon. Gordon Dirks, B. Ed., M. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Elbow

Dear Gordon:

An Editor's Note: As we mourn President John Kennedy, murdered in Dallas, Texas so viciously LI (51) years ago today, perhaps it is fitting that Executive Dissertations takes a look at another assassinated President this afternoon, President James Garfield.

Just the IInd President to be slaughtered while in office, President Garfield only lasted CC (200) days in power & died LXXX (80) days after being shot. As a result of this, the powers of the Vice-President Chester Alan Arthur, Republican-New York to be "Acting" President with a still living Commander-In-Chief/Chief Executive were sort of in doubt. This of course was b/c people wanted to give President Garfield a chance to do something even though his wounds were mortal & so a government agenda couldn't really move forward until his death b/c any orders given by Pres. Garfield might be countermanded through channels by Vice-President Arthur and vice versa. Although while in office, Pres. Garfield did discuss the need for education & how it would maintain a sense of order & good governance from the student leaders (including Presidents) of the future.

"Next in importance to freedom & justice is popular education, without which neither freedom nor justice can be permanently maintained."

The Student Sayings Of Joe Friday On Fridays From Los Angeles, California Case Seventy

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #6, 14504-108 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5N 1G8

November XXIst, MMXIV

Hon. Gordon Dirks, B. Ed., M. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Elbow

Dear Gordon:

Just like current Edmonton Police Service Chief Rod Knecht is worried about a poorer response time on certain calls with police helicopters that are getting out of date & worn down due to flights having to start & end at St. Albert's airport (Villeneuve) rather than in downtown Edmonton proper, Sergeant Joe Friday of the Los Angeles Police Department is also worried about getting to a home where II sisters have gone missing. They have been presumed kidnapped due to the long time they have been gone from their home where they lived with their mother, a widow on a limited income. Sgt. Friday & the LAPD are facing a severe lack of manpower & squad cars this day due to multiple calls so officers cannot respond to the call for help as quickly. Also, if too many family & friends trample the scene of where the girls were last seen, evidence might get destroyed, thus delaying the officers arriving on scene from starting their investigation right away. This leads to valuable time time & that time is critical in the conducting of police business. It could mean that girls if found might be injured &/or dead as opposed to free of injury &/or alive.

"We'd gotten a call from a worried mother who reported her four year old twin girls missing. Hours had passed since we'd gotten the initial report. The children had failed to turn up; we had to find them."

Quality People In A Quality Newspaper

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #6, 14504-108 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5N 1G8

November XIXth, MMXIV

Hon. Gordon Dirks, B. Ed., M. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Elbow

Dear Gordon:

When quality people like Chris Labossiere, the Hon. A. Anne McLellan, LLB, QC, PC, & Patricia Misutka get featured in an Edmonton Journal Top XXX (30) most powerful people featurette, I get even more impressed with that paper than I already was bIV!

Chris is always some1 I admired. A family man, a pilot, a husband, a father! His progressive ideas are superb for youth to look at & adapt to make Edmonton's future (including that of the downtown core) all the better IV the rest of its citizens of all socioeconomic stripes! I am just ever so proud at Chris for his social media skills & this glorious achievement.

A. Anne, what can you say about her. I ran against her as the federal Progressive Conservative candidate some XIV (14) years ago this month. Its hard to believe, that was a lifetime ago. I was just XXVI (26) & am now XL (40) & in that time I've grown to really look up to A. Anne, although I am opposite her political philosophy in almost every aspect, she is just such a bright & understanding person. Real street smarts to say the least!

Patricia Misutka, what a glorious example of leadership. Pat worked hard for then Mayor, now the Hon. Stephen Mandel, A. Arts, B. Sci., M. Poli. Sci, Progressive Conservative, Edmonton-Whitemud, our new health minister. I did signs, data entry, & flyer/brochure drops on Mandel council & mayoral campaigns & truly think of Pat as a political genius!

I wish I had the time to preview all XXX names b/c they are all so talented. But since I've met these III I think they would be great mentors to students now & in the future for many years to come!

Just Great,

Today, Roxanne James, MP stands up for victims & shows disgust for the way inmates (including murderers) have more rights than the people they killed, as well as their own families.

"I was shocked today to learn that an individual who callously murdered his wife and her mother in front of their young son is trying to sue the government for misplacing lewd pictures he had taken of his new wife. It is shocking that this individual would try to force Canadians to compensate him for such a ludicrous issue as he sits in prison serving a life sentence. Diploma Diplomatic

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin.

Edmonton, Alberta T5T 6G4

November XVIIth, MMXIV

Hon. Gordon Dirks, B. Ed., M. Ed., MLA-Elect
Minister of Education,
Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Elbow

Dear Gordon:

When your sworn in as an MLA in about 88 minutes, keep in mind several factors about the diploma exam reevaluation by school boards

A. As the human with the most high school credits at CCCXXXVII (337) in the province & II (2) high school diplomas, I am more aware than anyone else alive of the pratfalls of messing with this 50/50 split formula.

B. The Alberta School Boards Association (ASBA) is going to ask you to make it a 70/30 split whereby the diploma exams are only worth 30% of the overall grade. Having taken more diploma exams from Her Majesty's Alberta Department of Education than any1 else, I would think that a more reasonable starting point might be 60% course work & 40% diploma exam.

C. While I agree that students learn more from their courses & the work in their overall content, diploma exams are very important b/c students have II learn that they will face future "time-pressure" situations throughout their lives. So these high school diploma exams give them great practice.

D. Also, school boards including my division where I reside of Edmonton Public risk dumbing down diploma exams at their own peril. If the diploma exams are weighted too low, than it can become a scam to graduate more students based on course work alone whom might benefit from repeating a course or courses bIV they move onto other endeavours (eg: a job, or post-secondary studies.)

Dear Gordon:

Due to being a person who preferred being a bachelor, Prime Minister William L. King was a father to many canine friends over the years, as a result, his family were his dogs. That is truly a great thing b/c animals bring people of all races, religions, & creeds so much joy. Not having kids however didn't prevent the Prime Minister from wanting to provide legislation that was accountable to Canadians as a whole & not just Liberal voters. The PM realized that legislative changes that were good for family's of all stripes was also good IV keeping family units together (not to mention it also helped getting his party another term in office, what most political leaders of all parties want.) The PM wanted people to express their ideas to their elected representatives so that their input could be put inII pieces of legislation to make it better.

Colonel of Her Majesty's Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF); the Hon. Laurie Hawn, PC, MP. Laurie happens to be my MP & on that fateful day when Cpl. Nathan Cirillo was shot at the National War Memorial at The Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier, Laurie once again "answered the call of the armed forces, student cadet soldiers, & frankly Canadians everywhere." He made a rather spellbinding & dramatic statement when an ISIS Muslim extremist terrorist forced Parliament to shut down & our elected officials & their staffs to hide in fear. Laurie knew that he must "not let the terrorists win" by thinking that they had been successful in wrecking Her Majesty's Canadian parliamentary democracy. They may have wounded us those ISIS bastards, but the payloads from our planes in retaliation is an excellent response. Too bad Lt. Col. Hawn couldn't be flying one of those planes!

"We can't let the SOBs stop us from doing what we're there to do!"

Dear Gordon:

In Presenting Petitions, Jack Harris, MP stands up for his constituents who believe that a cellphone tower will be located to close to day care facilities. Thus possibly causing diseases & neurological/physical disorders in children nearby from waves.

"Mr. Speaker, I have the honour to present a petition on behalf of hundreds of residents of my constituency of St. John's-East who object to the erection of a cellular telephone antenna on the rooftop of a hotel that is close to a child care centre & across from a major sub-division. The petitioners believe this is potentially harmful for their children & the neighbours. The petitioners are requesting that the Minister Of Industry deny the application for a license to erect this tower, or alternatively that Bell Mobility & the hotel owners withdraw the application & move the cell tower at least 200 metres away from area residents & child care certificates."

Dear Gordon:

With my XLth (40th) birthday being this Tuesday, November XIth: I C% (100%) back the play of Dan Harris, MP to make Remembrance Day a federal statutory holiday. Students studying warfare & just how stupid it is will realize what tremendous sacrifices armed forces personnel & their families make to serve. For instance: long family separations due to tours of duty & the heavy burden of recovery time from injuries, even their very lives themselves. Dan got an all party Private Members Bill passed supporting this very well thought out idea indeed!

"Mr. Speaker, I want to thank my fellow MPs for last night's vote, giving all-party support to my bill to make Remembrance Day a national holiday."

Hon. Gordon Dirks, B. Ed., M. Ed., MLA-Elect, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Elbow

Dear Gordon:

Trying to get the economy going again due to a worldwide depression was hard for Prime Minister Arthur Meighen. He didn't want young people & their families to starve however due to a lack of monies for food & therefore a lack in daily nutritional requirements. So he stated as PM that he would do his best to solve the crisis & unleashed a stratagem.

"I propose that any government of which I am the head will at the first session of Parliament initiate whatever action is necessary to that end, or perish in the attempt."

The Saturday Presidential Buzz-Hiram Ulysses S. Grant

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., Beverly Crest Hotel Courtesy Computer, Edmonton, Alberta

November VIIIth, MMXIV

Hon. Gordon Dirks, B. Ed., M. Ed. MLA-Elect, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Elbow

Dear Gordon:

An Editor's Note: President Hiram Ulysses S. Grant had the IInd middle initial of "S" added to his name & usually was referred to as "Ulysses Simpson Grant" with the "Simpson" being the name on his mother's side of the family. The "S" was added by mistake when he signed up for armed forces service training. Just like with President Harry S. Truman (who had two grandpas with the first name starting with the letter "S" so both could claim that was what his middle name stood IV), Pres. Grant's "S" actually stood for nothing & his actually legal name at birth was Hiram Ulysses Grant.

A great Union Army Civil War general (some might argue the best), President U. S. Grant wanted young people to know that while a soldier by profession, he hated killing & war. This was b/c it robbed people of their futures & sent young people to their deaths bIV they could get a chance to get some schooling & start on their own life paths. Speaking to armed forces recruits at a White House luncheon, the President gave a rather sombre commentary.

"Although a soldier by profession, I have never felt any sort of fondness for war, & I have never advocated it, except as a means of peace."

Dear Gordon:

Without a doubt my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT, the Rt. Hon. Stephen, Harper, PC, MP is doing what what Prime Ministers do, & that is run the command deck. Part of that job is being a diplomatic envoy & host. Today, Steve welcomes Francois Hollande, Socialist, President of the Republic De France. His remarks delivered at Banff National Park.

"We're greatly honoured by the visit. But also it's an important visit because for Canada, France is one our most important relationships in the world. It's a country with which we've had important international, cultural & economic links literally for centuries, & we continue to work-Francois & I very closely together."

Minister of Education,

Dear Gordon:

Sure educational is a provincially run jurisdiction. I certainly commend Sadia Groguhe, MP for her efforts to point that out, but why is she turning the issue against government Conservative MPs & the government in terms of military history. Schools today don't teach Canada's military campaign. What with Rememberance Day coming up on Tuesday, & the tragic killings of II Canadian soldiers recently, how are students supposed to learn from past battles to honour dead, retired, & active military personnel & honour them? They kept & keep us safe, honour & dignity is what they deserve!

"Mr. Speaker, the question is not whether military history should be taught. The question, rather, is this: why are the Conservatives interfering in provincial education programs?"
