Dear Gordon:

Clean H2O is on the docket for Cathy McLeod, MP. In this case on a First Nations reserve. It shouldn't really matter whether its a reserve, or private land, or a public space such as a park, frankly, free H2O that is clean & as free of chemicals as possible that can cause birth defects or health issues in native peoples or any citizens should what all governments on this planet should strive for.

Dear Gordon:

On the crazy day in when a shooter rampaged Parliament Hill, the Hon. John McKay, PC, MP reflects to Maclean's Magazine on the people he was with & his concern over the safety of a young mother & baby he had to stand with. It just shows how with the VIII (8) murders & a suicide here in Edmonton how terrorism can happen to anyone & anywhere & the police can't always stop it. Sad that this Edmonton octuple homicide included children as well.

Jim Prentice, QC, MLA, Premier, Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Foothills. As can be seen by this picture from Earl's outstanding blog, Rev. W. Wade was in the background at different functions meeting with Danielle in person & Jim as well. In this way, he could sort of be a facilitator or younger Rev. Dr. Billy Graham & making sure that the negotiations were tension free. Divinity students please take note of W. Wade's great work here!

December XXVIIIth, MMXIV

Hon. Gordon Dirks, B. Ed., M. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Elbow

Dear Gordon:

When deranged separatist terrorists & lunatics were trying to overthrow governing control & killing & injuring hostages, thus putting & their students & family members in Quebec & possibly across the Dominion Of Canada in danger, Prime Minister Pierre E. Trudeau & many Canadians were rightly pissed off. The PM decided to invoke "The War Measures Act" & just like current PM Stephen J. Harper, PC, MP, Conservative, Calgary-Southwest in the Parliament Hill terrorist attacks at the National War Memorial at the Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier, PM Trudeau showed tremendous leadership under fire & immense pressure.

Deputy Premier of Quebec Pierre Laporte was killed & British Diplomat James Richard Cross was being held hostage & beaten. This suspension of civil liberties was justified just like when President Abraham Lincoln, Republican-Illnois suspended "Habeas corpus" during The Civil War. When asked by the intrepid reporter Tim Ralfe of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) News just how far he'd go to stop these ruthless fucking bastards who were harming folks & possibly planning more attacks, Prime Minister Trudeau with Canadians of all political stripes backing him gave a rather shall we say superb answer!

"Just watch me!"

Dear Gordon:

Nobel Peace Prize laureate & contributor to the founding of The United Nations, Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson was very effective in getting things done through negotiation. You might say as many others have that he was Canada's most "efficient" Prime Minister b/c he had to rely heavily on his diplomatic skills as he governed with II successive minority governments & never held a majority mandate during his tenure in office. As a former Minister Of External Affairs (now called Foreign Affairs), the PM had to keep the spirits up of Canadians looking to join our diplomatic core who were hesitant b/c of the possibility of failure. That is part of being a great leader & a morale boost or pep talk can rally folks to a cause. The PM shows people that everyone will succeed & everyone will fail in life, the point is they must live life & experience both & everything in between.

"Failures are made only by those who fail to dare, not by those who dare to fail."

"The baseball camp last summer was a great success with children attending from V (5) countries. The reason the camp is held is to give back to the community & to teach the children the fundamentals of baseball. Dear Gordon:

Laurin Liu, MP expresses her frustration to students & readers of The Globe & Mail about how little committees are respected under many majority governments, whether they be Liberal or Conservative. She is frustrated that amendments made by committee members are voted down bIV being returned to the House Of Commons (or Committee of the Whole) IV discussion, debate, & proper voting procedures.

"The role of committee should not become less important under a majority government."

"To Merge Or Not To Merge: That Is The Question!"

December XVIth, MMXIV

Hon. Gordon Dirks, B. Ed., M. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Elbow

Dear Gordon:

Now let me see if I have the players right here Gordo!

I. For political science students, The Hon. Jim Prentice, QC, MLA, Premier, Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Foothills is in talks to merge with Danielle Smith, MLA, Wildrose, Highwood at her behest. I guess she figures Gordie that if she "can't beat 'em, join 'em" & in that scenario she'd be the obvious choice to become the XVIIth Premier & Leader of the Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta when Diamonds R Forever Jim steps down in VIII (8) years or II (2) terms under his term limits IV (4) a leader plan!

     - Plus, she'll save the jobs of Vitor Marciano & William McBeath (Billy McBeef) who can use their raw talents to run the election campaigns of newly minted PC MLAs (wait for it)...into the ground!

A young man also named Billy, Billy Shakespeare said of the merger & ensuring that Gay/Straight Alliances never pass.

"To merge or not to merge, that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings & arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a financial sea of troubles,
 And by merging end them?"

"To die, to sleep;
To sleep erchance to dream; ay there's the rub (not the "body rub" parlour Mike Allen, MLA, Progressive Conservative, Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo.)
The insolence of office & the spurns.
The undiscovered country from the merger is bourn,
Enterprises of great pith & moment.
Thus conscience does make cowards of us all."

Manmeet S. Bhullar, MLA, Minister of Infrastructure, Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Greenway For The Key,

Hon. Gordon Dirks, B. Ed., M. Ed., MLA

Dear Gordon:

As you know a huge part of being elected to any office civically, provincially & federally is to meet with constituents & speak on constituency matters/current events/emergencies etc. in the constituency, or in a constituency office itself. Megan Leslie, MP does just that here when she shows her Halifax constituents & political science students a touch of class in comments about the late Hon. Jim Flaherty, PC, former Minister Of Finance & Conservative MP for Whitby-Oshawa. Megan shows that just b/c a political rival dies it doesn't mean you cannot have been a friend to them in life & honour their memory by being gracious to their colleagues, family, & friends in death.

"My heart goes out to the family of Jim Flaherty, & all my Conservative colleagues. Know that there is love & support around you."

Dear Gordon:

Edmonton Public Library (EPL) branches (including this new one in Clareview that came online this very day) have always been supportive of agricultural & agrifood & the farming sector of Alberta that built this province. EPL shows their support with books, magazines, & online research materials that allow Edmontonians & other Albertans the chance to study farming techniques from the past & the latest technologies for working in the agricultural sector, either in a family or commercial farm. So Pierre Lemieux, MP also seems to have a farming focus in his comments today which ties in rather nicely with EPL.

"The committee heard from more than L (50) witnesses who represent many Canadian agricultural sectors. I would like to thank them for sharing their expertise & experience with the committee & for making recommendations."

Dear Gordon:

On the social media engine of Facebook, the Hon. Kellie Leitch, PC, MP talks about how disgusting violence against women & violence of any kind is disgusting on the XXVth anniversary of the sombre occasion of the L'Ecole Polytechnique attacks in Montreal.

"This attack cut short the lives of XIV (14) women, who were targeted simply because they were women."

"There was consultation over a one-year period. Yukon First Nations were provided $100,000.00 for consultation, which was receipted & billed back to the Canadian taxpayer."

Dear Gordon:

The area of interest for Helene LeBlanc, MP is the Rouge National Urban Park Act. This is where parks & forest areas are set aside in urban centres for study & the better health of area residents, including students who study in the area.

"I find the Rouge Park initiative very interesting. We need to think about the long-term protection of these particular areas, which will also be outdoor schools. This will enable urban residents to enjoy nature & give them access to interpretation centres focusing on these ecologically rich & historical areas."

Dear Gordon:

For the Hon. Denis Lebel, PC, MP we seem to have an emphasis on toll roads & how their fees will help pay for construction & maintenance costs from the users directly. Champlain Bridge is being built by the federal government with toll revenue & it has support among many groups, including that of students who use it to transverse to get to & from their classes. Its important b/c of the huge fight over whether the Hon. Jim Prentice, QC, MLA, Premier, Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Foothills is going to direct the Hon. Robin Campbell, MLA, Minister of Finance & President of the Treasury Board, Progressive Conservative, West Yellowhead to put in tolls inII budgetary legislation.

"When we made the announcement, we said there would also be a toll & transit & that the bridge would be built through a public-private partnership. We are following through on that."
