"A House Divided Against Itself Cannot Stand!"-Mr. Rothfus

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #6, 14504-108 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5N 1G8

April XXXth, MMXVI

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

Pennsylvania Congressman Keith Rothfus decides to talk today about corrupt Medicaid companies that were providing poor service to families in some States & yet were allowed to continue to operate in others. An excellent point to be sure.

"It is unacceptable that XII (12) percent of Medicaid providers terminated from a State Medicaid program were found to be unlawfully participating in another State's program."

Rory

"A House Divided Against Itself Cannot Stand!"-Mr. Tiberi

April XXIXth, MMXVI

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

We seem to have gotten Congressman Pat Tiberi of Ohio interested in discussing a point on job creation, something sorely needed by the rather New Democratic government administration & to be fair, the Progressive Conservative one that proceeded it here in Alberta. Putting families back to work makes Ohioans want to contribute again.

"It's easy, if you want to grow the economy, encourage job creation, & increase federal revenue, you support making bonus depreciation permanent. Permanency gives job creators the certainty they need to plan & invest in their businesses, including hiring employees."

Rory

April XXVIIIth, MMXVI

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

We are instructed by Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney of New York who touts her efforts on the need for bipartisan deals on fiscal matters as its budget time in many jurisdictions. The quicker deals are reached, the less monies will be wasted & the more that will get to students & their families.

"I urge the GOP to work with Democrats to craft a budget that invests in our future & meets the challenges facing our nation."

Dear Dave:

In Committee, we have Congresswoman Bonnie Watson-Coleman of New Jersey chatting aloud about teachers are quite invaluable to the community overall.

"Teachers are the linchpin of any community. We entrust them with cultivating the minds of our children, serving as positive role models for young people, & preparing the next generation to take on the world."

April XXVIth, MMXVI

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

I do indeed agree with the findings of the Office Of Child & Youth Advocate Alberta that the number of suicides rates among First Nations youth is particularly troubling. Seven in terms of this report & countless more before & since, with a half-Uncle of Cree origins on my late mother's side, I find even one First Nations youth dead troubling, even staggering in its sadness to me, especially as First Nations culture provides such a richness to Alberta's mosaic. I do also find it troubling that we are given unlimited cash & resources to the Syrian refugees & their children, but we are ignoring the problems of First Nations youth & their families on reserves, as well as Albertans in general.

"A House Divided Against Itself Cannot Stand!"-Mrs. Dingell

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #6, 14504-108 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5N 1G8

April XXVth, MMXVI

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

Laying the groundwork for new ideas in Michigan is Congresswoman Deborah Dingell who succeeded her husband John in the seat after he valiantly held it for six decades straight (the last XX years being the "Dean Of Congress" or its longest serving member.) Now with a retiree husband, Debbie is clearly wanting to ensure seniors have dignity & respect. Definitely a point that medical students in gerontology have to take into account.

"Today more than 70 percent of seniors between the ages of 65 & 84 who need hearing aids don't get them. This leads to isolation, depression & some studies have documented early dementia."

April XXIVth, MMXVI

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

Supreme Court Of The United States (SCOTUS) Madam Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is on point today with a Sunday comment about on women's equality, which frankly I as an empowered male totally agree with. How are children supposed to be brought up as productive members of society if both adult women & men don't share responsibilities equally?

"Women will only have true equality when men share with them the responsibility of bringing up the next generation."

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

We have Congressman Mike Bost of Illinois all fired up about getting students in his District to participate in the Congressional Art Competition. Seems Mikey knows that even in "the land of Lincoln" as in every place, art must be treasured & nurtured. I agree as culture & art are very important as they encourage a creative side in students.

"I am writing to invite all high school students from Illinois' XIIth (12th) Congressional District to participate in the annual Congressional Art Competition."

April XXIst, MMXVI

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

On the occasion of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The IInd's XCth (90th) birthday today, a loyal British Subject named Mister Sherlock Holmes on holidays in The Dominion Of Canada decides to go for a run to raise funds to fight cancer with his friend Miss Linda Pritchard as they were together inspired to do so by that late & great Canadian Mister Terry Fox. Upon leaving The International Exhibition Of Sherlock Holmes display at the Telus World Of Science Edmonton to start their run, his friend & colleague Doctor John Watson (who was thinking it was rather a three-pipe problem to get a hold of Sherlock) asks him to comment on both the Holmes display & the cause that he & Linda are fighting for, that bastard of a disease cancer! Luckily, the great detective has a delicious & rather clever one word response to the good doctor's inquiry!

April XXth, MMXVI

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

Florida Congressman Gus Bilirakis amps up the dialogue on the need to get cures to students & their families who have medical disorders. This makes sense as more lives will be saved, or if the student is really badly injured or sick, at least somewhat improved in quality.

"So many in my district in Florida, & across the country, shared with us their thoughts on how we may accelerate the process of getting cures to patients."

April XIXth, MMXVI

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

It seems from a very young age that ex-Speaker Of The House & California Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi really had an interest in politics & social networking. She thus that network to raise awareness of the importance of community colleges & how they produce future generations of workers.

"In order to create a nation ready for the challenges of the XXIst (21st) century, we can look no further than community colleges. As a living & breathing example of equipping students with cutting-edge skills, community colleges are producing the next workforce that will fill emerging industries that keep America number one."

April XVIIIth, MMXVI

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

Virginia asks its Congressman Gerry Connolly to inform it on his progress on keeping transit & passenger rail lines open & safe. Something we are facing here in Edmonton if the LRT line is reconstituted above or below ground (as should have been done in the Ist place) at the Northern Alberta Institute Of Technology (NAIT) & students/drivers are thus inconvenienced for an even longer time frame.

Dear Dave:

We ask Texas Congressman Mike Conaway to lay out his plans for promoting farm life & the good folks, who along with their families make their living from the agricultural sector in his District. They are what make America great, just as Alberta farmers do here.

"America depends on a thriving agricultural industry. Texas' XIth (11th) congressional district is home to thousands of families who make their living from the land. April XVIth, MMXVI

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

I strongly & vociferously encourage people to read the Friday, April XVth, MMXVI (April 15th, 2016) editions of either The Spruce Grove Examiner or The Stony Plain Reporter by the very adroit & very lovely journalist, Miss Yasmin Mayne (who is my new hero)! She is a credit to the journalistic trade & I want to thank her personally as well as her newspaper team for taking an interest in my quest to honour my late mother June, a retired school teacher & University Of Alberta Education grad with the "June C. Koopmans School" in her name. Its entitled: "A dutiful son campaigns for his mother."

It makes journalistic sense & is a great family piece about the bond between a mother & her son, which even death cannot separate & we own an acreage in Parkland County where Yasmin's newspapers work out of. I didn't ask for mom to die, but she did die & so having a school in her name would be the greatest thing in the world for her educational legacy! Its less than a month or so until Mother's Day I believe so it really would do our family proud to see this come to fruition!

Anyone wishing to help should write:

Also, read my February XIVth, MMXVI (14th, 2016) piece on this matter written in red text called "Campaigning For Ma" for greater detail on mom's educational journey!

"Nixon Is As Nixon Does!"

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #6, 14504-108 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5N 1G8

April VIIIth, MMXVI

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

An Editor's Note: Your caucus colleague the Hon. Rachel Notley, B. A., LL. B., MLA, Premier & President of the Executive Council & Minister of Intergovernmental Relations, New Democratic, Edmonton-Strathcona informs me that with the way grocery prices are rising that $45,000.00 of the $90,000.00 for the production costs for the speech from her home kitchen was for the cost of the fruit in the bowl next to her. It was well worth it as she bought only organic fruit from the Old Strathcona Farmers Market.

Your caucus colleague the Hon. Sarah Hoffman, B. A., B. Sc., B. Ed., M. Ed., MLA, Deputy Premier & Minister of Health, New Democratic, Edmonton-Glenora might just be craftier than the Christmas gift that keeps on giving, year after year over four decades later: "The Watergate Tapes" recorded on glorious audio cassette by then XXXVIIth President Of The United States Of America Richard Milhous Nixon, Republican-California.

In her letter standing down from office, ex-Chief Executive officer of Alberta Health Services (AHS) Vickie Kaminski alleges that Minister Hoffman & her deputies were giving voice operational commands & command codes without any accompanying paper or email trail. Which is actually quite unethical if true as even secret cabinet or ministerial orders are required to have written paper backup, standard parliamentary procedure (just ask Democratic Presidential contender Hillary Clinton of New York & her XXII (22) home based computer emails which should land her in jail but which she'll get pardoned for by XLIVth President Barack Hussein Obama, Democratic-Illinois (Kenya) for on his last day in office.) Now if true, I'd like to point out that there is no audiotape of the Minister or Boss Deputy Minister Carl Amrhein saying such things (although for a PH. D. himself, Carl clearly has zero idea of what the in hell he is doing you might notice!) Then we have Cowtown Mayor Naheed Nenshi stating that the Minister never said such things. As a result, we must give the Minister & her staff the benefit of the doubt since a "he said versus she said" situation.

While AHS is okay for the most part & Chairman Linda Hughes & her Executive team are quite excellent, the entire organization needs to be cannibalized. I mean take a look at statistical fact analysis since AHS was created by then "genius" Minister Ron Liepert, Progressive Conservative, now a Conservative MP (how I will never know) & his fellow academic master then-Premier Ed Stelmach, Progressive Conservative. When Alberta Health had complete operational control of all health department functions under the auspices of a Deputy Minister & that Deputy Minister was always a Medical Doctor, red tape was less. Billions a year less in fact was spent & patients were seen faster & treated in a more expeditious matter. Its time to return to this formula. It seems to me that this is the best format in which to reconstitute the health concerns of Albertans, even if it costs a couple of hundred million in severance to say farewell to the AHS Board.

Maybe They Should Make Vickie Kaminski The New Federal New Democratic Party Leader As It Doesn't Take An "MD" Moniker To See That As Long As Tom Mulcair Is Leader That Party is In Life Support!

April IVth, MMXVI

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

We have New York Congressman Jerrold Nadler looking into ways to help citizens with larger families. Big or small, all kids of any family size need an = chance to prosper.

"My district has many large families, often living in or near poverty, & many need help with daily expenses so they don't slip through the cracks."

New York City,

Rory

"A House Divided Against Itself Cannot Stand!"-Mr. Payne

April IVth, MMXVI

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

Security for New Jersey students & their families for Congressman Donald Payne. Especially smart when you consider XXI (21) murders in Chicago, Illinois in XX (20) hours this weekend, or a new dead body every LVIII (58) minutes. Or here in Edmonton a couple of weeks back where we had VI (6) murders in V (5) days.

"The security of our residents & our communities should not be threatened by partisan politics."

Newark,

Rory

April IIIrd, MMXVI

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

In her last term of office, Michigan Congresswoman Candice Miller is still working hard to make a difference for students. She does so by being supportive of career & technical education.

"I am so honored to have been able to visit the Tuscola Technology Center & meet with both the teachers & students who make this facility what it is: a life-changing opportunity to receive valuable job training that will successfully launch individuals into today's job market."

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

Straight from the broadcast booth, Congressman Robert Dold of Illinois gives radio listeners the inside track on his support from a parental point of view. Albeit it from a parent that has a vote in the House Of Reps & therefore can influence educational reforms.

"As the father of three children & the son of a school teacher, working to ensure quality education for children in all of our communities is a top priority of mine."

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

Down on the family farm this fine Sunday is Georgia Congressman Jody Hice. Jody takes the times to comment on agricultural issues for families.

"I will support responsible federal agriculture policies that give our farmers the tools & continuity they need without growing federal bureaucracies in the process."

Rory
