Dear David:

Sitting here in the Lois Hole EPL Branch I am shocked II discover that again there are no mousepads under the mouse's attached II the mainframe computers. Arguably, having a mousepad under each mouse will teach Alberta students & library patrons in general the value of respect IV EPL property in terms of not scarfing or scratching up the furniture/computer station housed underneath.

The cost of having to repair with a new top &/or refinish/replace each of these workstations can be quite astronomical. I as a furniture contractor/supplier to wholesalers and resalers can get EPL a corporate rate on new or even used desks. But why should EPL have to spend money on new workstations if a simple mousepad at each workstation will prevent them from getting wrecked in the first place? We need to teach common sense and a bulk purchase of say City of Edmonton made or even blank mousepads will save a fortune in the end and allow students to work on the computers with a quiet dignity. Glue them down if you are worried about theft.

Graciously,

Rory
