Dear David:

This social engineering in schools has gone too far. Many great Canadians (such as Mario Silva & Nelly Furtado) have come from Portugal & made a great contribution here II Canadian society, as have their offspring. But to be blunt, the Toronto Public School Board wanting II set up a Portugeuse only school is quite frankly just social engineering run amuck. Portugeuse is taught as an optional language class in Toronto schools II students who wish II learn it. Any Ontario students can take lessons in it in a classroom setting or via a home-based correspondence option. If parents want a Portugeuse school, then let them set up private schools w/o Government of Ontario funding. The line in the sand must be drawn somewhere, whats next, a seperate school IV every language & then every dialect? Its just overkill!

Regards,

Rory
