Dear David:

Congrats to Dr. Gordon Wilkes, MD: a plastic surgeon who works on human patients for donating his time to help fix the cleft pallet of the Journal's Puppycam Dog Keepsake. It was gracious of him & assistant to drive over to the surgical offices of Dr. Amy Miller, DVM: a veterinarian who has her practice in Devon. Combining human & vet Dr. forces gave this youngster a better chance of having a normal life. Vet medicine & veterinary students can now see that cleft pallets are not just disfiguring to children when they are born, &/or adults whose family's couldn't afford the procedurural costs for them, leaving them horribly disfigured & sensitive.

By being able to rebuild the face of the puppy, it will grow up healthy & happy. It will also be able to breathe & eat normally. Which from an educational standpoint IV students in this area of medicine can only be good as it will lead to a better quality of life IV this canine sweetheart.

"Keep" It Cool Keepsake,

Rory
