Dear Thomas:
People should see the film: "Its A Big Country: An American Anthology." It starred at the time Nancy Davis (Democrat, California) who later went onto become First Lady of both California & First Lady of the United States, after her marriage & conversion to the Republican Party along with her fellow actor & husband, Ronald Wilson Reagan, who was America's XLth President.
Nancy played Miss Coleman, a school teacher in a film thats LXXXIX
(89) minutes long from MCMLI (1951), segmented inII VIII segments. As the teacher of a young lad who was smart, but couldn't see very well, Nancy/Miss Coleman stressed the importance II his parents of getting him glasses by going IV a checkup to the optometrist. Also realizing that the boy's visual acuity off was off & he needed glasses in order II stay properly focused on his studies. She also had to deal with an overbearing father who didn't want to have his boy wearing glasses b/c none of his family members had ever needed them.
Miss Coleman overcame these barriers, & at the end of the film, the father of her student pulled out his new reading glasses at the supper table. Thus causing everyone II gasp, & then laugh at the whiole situationb. The boy's dad was trying to make his son feel comfortable about needing glasses b/c he needed them now to. That Nancy Davis Reagan/Miss Coleman, wow talk about a teacher going above & beyond the call of duty IV her student!
Crystal Clear,
Rory
