April XXVIIth, MMXII

Hon. Thomas Lukaszuk, MLA-Elect, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Edmonton-Castledowns

Dear Thomas:

At a teen house party, a young man gets stabbed to death right in the heart with a steak knife deliberately thrown at him. The assailant was XVIII (18) at the time of the crime & is now XXI (21). So in otherwords he's an adult who understood the consequences of his actions. Now all he gets is III (3) years in jail IV manslaughter. To me, this is a case of full on pre-meditation in terms of what he was going II do. Manslaughter, IInd Degree Murder, Ist Degree Murder, this student took the life of a fine young man whose only crime was being at the house party & trying II stop inappropriate behavior! I believe XXV (25) to life would have much more appropriate b/c in 1,091 days when he gets out of jail, the murdered man will still not be back & the parents will have the stress of knowing their son's murderer will be free after such a short time. The assailant had & has no remorse, he flipped his middle finger at the assembled media after the verdict, the murder victim will never get to finish his studies & have a spouse & family or give his parents grandkids!

Justice Denied,

Rory
