65 Or Bust

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #203, 8912-156 Street, Edmonton, Alberta T5R 5Z2

July IXth, MMXII

Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Athabasca-Sturgeon-RedH2O

Dear Jeff:

At the Labour Market Information Centre here in the Meadowlark area, we have a class at 1PM until 3PM solely IV seniors on how II access the computers & look IV work. Many seniors like to work part time, even full time, or volunteer during their golden years. As a result, there is a labour market shortage in many areas of the economy, not just here in Alberta, but worldwide. Never discount the senior job force. Senior citizens are not II old II be students of how II use computers. I say give seniors a chance. Many have proved themselves II be worthwhile in their previous careers, let them feel useful again.

Seniority,

Rory

  1. A good point. Something we should be covering in Edmonton Senior, perhaps.
