Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Athabasca-Sturgeon-RedH2O

Dear Jeff:

On this very day, August Ist, MCMLVII (August 1st, 1957), some LV (55) years ago, my grandfather, Johannes Pieters Koopmans started Koopmans' Furniture & Koopmans' Manufacturing Company (later to become Koopmans' Manufacturing Co. Ltd.). We sold the business off in MM (2000) when my father retired. So IV over XLIII (43) years we sold both pre-made furniture from all over Canada & The United States, we also performed custom orders to suit a customer's tastes.

We at Koopmans' stressed quality, most of the time customers bought items unfinished, but they also had us do the finishing to suit their taste. The memories of Koopmans' for me are forever great considering I was a salesman IV it. I just want II stress how important the manufacturing & processing industry's are here in Alberta & across Canada. Students who want II be carpenters, cabinet makers, furniture finishers need II look at Koopmans' & other stores that sell only solid wood quality as examples of how the customer(s) should be treated. Only the best quality of product IV their hard earned dollars!

When You Do A Job Do It Right,

Rory
