In back II back feature films today on Turner Classic Movies (TCM) IV its "Summer Under The Stars Festival", Triple Academy Award (TM) Winner Gary Cooper gets involved educationally. In the first film, "Ball Of Fire", Gary played a Professor who is working with VII other professors II put IIgether an encyclopedia, with his specific assignment to go around New York City & learn "slang" terminology, or the "lingo" of the day. He & his professorial colleagues realize that they must put the "man on the street" language of the day in their educational volume II give a true representation of the linguistics section of human knowledge.
In film number II, Gary plays a man of the west who used II be a killer, but now has reformed himself & is a married man with II children. In "Man Of The West", Gary's job is II go & hire a school teacher IV his town & he has been entrusted with money II do this. He gets robbed on a train & has II go back II his temporary life of killing in order II save himself & some friends. Its hard IV him, but he learns the lesson of bravery & true friendship. Sort of an education of the world.
