Dear Jeff:

Ten-thousand (10,000) + estimated dead, my heart truly goes out to the citizens of the Philippines, both in country & around the world. That typhoon was just horrible, even washing away schoolhouses & killing schoolchildren & their family's. Many who had to be buried in mass graves due to a lack of time & resources needed to help the living.

Having worked with Filipinos at two separate one year contract jobs here in Edmonton, I can attest as to what hard workers they really are. They have that strong immigrant work ethic & as such do the minimum wage/low-end jobs that many native born Canadian citizens refuse to do. As a result, being stuck here & around the world so far away from their family's just to earn money to send home, it must be hard not knowing if your family at home are living or dead. Even harder still, there is the pain of not being able to help their fellow country men & women on the ground.

Mother Nature's Fury,

Rory
