June IInd, MMXIV

Hon. Jeff Johnson, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Athabasca-Sturgeon-RedH2O

Dear Jeff:

Many people, whether famous or not have accomplished great things and they don't always have to have been the first to get to the goal to become famous or have a sense of achievement. Students can look forward to learning about famous "second placers" in future Executive Dissertations blog entries on the IInd of the month once in awhile, like today: June IInd.

I. Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin was the IInd man to walk on the Moon surface after his more famous counterpart Neil Armstrong. Buzz had a great career in the United States Air Force (USAF) as a Colonel & was Commandant of the Air Force Test Pilot School.

II. George Walker Bush, Republican-Texas came in IInd in terms of the popular vote in the MM (2000) United States Presidential Election but still got to be the XLIIIrd (43rd) President Of The United States as he had more Electoral College votes than his challenger, Albert Arnold "Al" Gore, Jr., Democrat-Tennessee.

III. Tenzing Norgay from of Great Britain was teamed with Edmund Hilary of New Zealand to climb the world's tallest mountain peak, Mount Everest. Tenzing was IInd to reach the summit after Edmund.

That's Rather Secondary,

Rory
