Dear Jeff:

So Edmonton Sun columnist Rick Whelan talks about reading aloud II his kids when they were young at every chance you can get. Now, the American Society Of Pediatrics (ASOP) also suggests parents read II their kids aloud in the doctor's office. Visiting dr's offices can be stressful IV parents, the kids themselves, & IV any patients in the room who might have II put up with a loud & squawking child who might be scared of perhaps having II have a needle for instance. So this idea II read II kids out loud is smart b/c it will calm them down & stimulate their brains & cognition levels with an interesting story. ASOP suggests parents start this reading process right from birth & I must say I like the idea. Keeping a baby or a youngster focused on a positive oration of a story will make their cognition levels stronger, bond with their parent II a greater degree, & also make any medical procedure required less upsetting IV them.

Very Intelligent,

Rory
