Dear Gordon:

Sergeant Joe Friday of the Los Angeles Police Department has to run down vehicle description numbers at the Department Of Motor Vehicles today as some of them were registered fraudulently & even with fake or stolen license plates. Some of the vehicles were registered as school supply trucks, they'd come & do pickups & then sell the supplies for cash to unsuspecting area pawn shops & retailers. Still others were used as trucks & vans posing as "entertainment vehicles" for students. They'd go around, set up phony shows, charge the students a small admission & then beat them up & steal any valuables they had on them. Talk about a very serious situation & the Sgt. needs to get a handle on it bIV the thieves possibly graduate to murder.
