November XVIth, MMXIV

Hon. Gordon Dirks, B. Ed., M. Ed., MLA-Elect, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Elbow

Dear Gordon:

Due to being a person who preferred being a bachelor, Prime Minister William L. King was a father to many canine friends over the years, as a result, his family were his dogs. That is truly a great thing b/c animals bring people of all races, religions, & creeds so much joy. Not having kids however didn't prevent the Prime Minister from wanting to provide legislation that was accountable to Canadians as a whole & not just Liberal voters. The PM realized that legislative changes that were good for family's of all stripes was also good IV keeping family units together (not to mention it also helped getting his party another term in office, what most political leaders of all parties want.) The PM wanted people to express their ideas to their elected representatives so that their input could be put inII pieces of legislation to make it better.

"Where there is little or no public opinion, there is likely to be bad government, which sooner or later becomes autocratic."
