Governor Bobby Jindal of Louisiana is focused on educating people (including students) on staying safe during disasters like the floods they had in New Orleans a few years ago. A situation we faced in MMXIII in southern Alberta.

"We are encouraging everyone to get prepared now to ensure that you have an evacuation plan in place, plenty of water, non-perishable food items, hygiene supplies, sufficient clothing, & any prescription medications you or your family may need in the event of a storm. We are urging Louisianians to stay alert & monitor local weather conditions in their area. As with every storm, we always hope for the best & prepare for the worst."
