Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., Castledowns Public Library Terminal Pod IV: Station III, Edmonton, Alberta
December XXXIst, MMXVII
Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder
Dear Dave:
Up here in Castledowns, the students at the computers are talking about their excitement for spring so they can play in their skate parks. I guess skateboard & bicycle parks with ramps are very popular according to the Branch EPL staff here. That is great because physical activity in a safe environment with properly maintained ramp areas is healthy for stimulating cognitive function in students of all ages.

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA
Minister of Education,
New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder
Dear Dave:
From all that I can gather, there seems to be quite the stalemate on how to help First Nations students with developmental issues adapt to life on city streets, which can be quite different from a reserve. Since my late mom Mrs. June C. Koopmans, B. Ed. older half-brother Ron is Metis (having the same dad, my late Grandpa Archie), I have come to this EPL Branch location for an informal discussion with various Red Earth Healing Society groups. The students here are used to being groups from what I can see, but they are apprehensive like anyone else (a normal human reaction) around students & peoples of other religions & cultures. How Dave do we fix this?!

Accept Nothing But The Absolute Very Best At Christmas!

December XXVth, MMXVII
Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder
Dear Dave:
Just like in "Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi" features a special return by Jedi Master Yoda, a true legend of teaching & understanding, we need to focus on only the absolute very best at Christmas! So of course we bring back Yoda's equivalent as a teacher on Earth, the legend that was my mother, Mrs. June C. Koopmans, B. Ed. from upstairs & a lesson plan from her her teaching days at Afton Elementary School Grade 2. Mom adored "Star Wars" films, especially Yoda & so on her favourite day of the year we call on her once again! I mean who better?!

Dear Dave:
So now that Interim Alberta Party Leader Greg Clark, MLA, Calgary-Elbow has decided not to run to replace himself as Interim Leader to replace himself as Alberta Party Leader, we have Kara Levis as the first candidate entering the race for Alberta Party Leader?! Just great, yet another uppity Calgary lawyer born in B.C. controlled by Stephen Carter. I just remind political science students once again of the last Calgary lawyer that Stephen Carter brought us.:
Luckily we put this person out to the manure pasture after only 29 months in office (29 months too long!)

December XIVth, MMXVII
Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder
Dear Dave:
So Derek Fildebrandt, MLA, Independent, Strathmore-Brooks illegally shot a deer on private land without any authorization to be there & to top it off had no hunting license. Then he claims to have been unaware that he was on private land & apologizes profusely. Then he claims that he "donated" the deer meat to a local food bank. Pardon me Derek but isn't the dead deer technically the property of Her Majesty's Department of Alberta Fish & Wildlife? Luckily Derek was able to explain his need for the hunting rifle to eco-friendly students in the same area. He explained that he had the gun to prevent any more women from filing false (true) sexual harassment wrongful dismissal lawsuits against the Leader of Her Majesty's Loyal Official Opposition Jason Nixon, MLA, United Airlines Conservative Party (UACP), Rimbey-Rocky Mountain House-Sundre (such as the one in British Columbia that caused Nixon a 32 grand payout.) Anything to get back into caucus, am I right Derek?
Have A Great Buy Election Leader Kenney & U Can Go Halfsies With Derek On His Edmonton Apartment AirBnB Once You Become An MLA,

December IXth, MMXVII
Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder
Dear Dave:
There is a movement by ex Edmonton Mayor & "he's dead Jim" Prentice cabinet minister Steve Mandel to put former Grit MLA & Edmonton City Councillor Karen Leibovici in as head of the Alberta Party. Wow, as Executive Dissertations has stated before here, Karen is a fantastic person & a wonderful ex Mayoral candidate herself. Her becoming the next Alberta Party Leader will allow the party to go "Future To The Back." Thus providing a centrist option for a rejected candidate for the City of Edmonton's Chief Executive slot. Still, its seems better than putting in Interim Alberta Party Leader Greg Clark, MLA, Calgary-Elbow who if he runs will of course be running to replace himself as Interim Leader to replace himself as Alberta Party Leader. Why all the concentration in the Alberta Party focused in Calgary-Elbow? That riding for a future Premier was destroyed by the XIVth (14th) occupant of Room #CCCVII (#307) Legislature Bvilding, The Office of the Premier. Still you have to give Steve credit for trying!
Putting Out Feelers,
Rory

December IInd, MMXVII
Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder
Dear Dave:
I am hard on the Alberta Liberal Party at times, but even I must confess that it was great political genius & acumen & skill to choose to run their new Leader Dave Khan in the Calgary-Lougheed byelection. I strongly applaud this manoeuvre from a military tactics point of view. Even if (when) Candidate Khan loses to Candidate Jason Kenney, at least the Alberta Liberals are trying to have a truly "provincial" presence & media exposure in running a candidate. While the Alberta Party that no one cares about claims that 400 people in attendance at their Red Deer convention where they decided not to run a candidate (yet are promoted as strong by Calgary Herald Columnist Don Braid in his column, what a laugh.) The Alberta Party says its for all Albertans, its really just for elitists who cannot stomach that Candidate Kenney won the Leadership of the United Airlines Conservative Party (UACP) fairly & squarely. Plus they are negotiating with the Alberta New Democratics to not run candidates against one another in the MMXIX provincial writ under the new borders (except in new urban/rural ridings where both parties will run candidates to see which is strongest. Then whatever party gets the most votes, the other party won't run against it in MMXXIII writ.) To top it off they have that arrogant prick Stephen Carter who gave us Alison Redfjord as Premier & we all know how well that turned out don't we!
To sum up: Alberta Liberal Party strategists: excellent & quite frankly shows true "grit."
Alberta Party strategists: the Alberta Party has strategists?!

November XXth, MMXVII
Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder
Dear Dave:
The Alberta Party seems to be the place to be if you want blatant resentment & corruption. Here we have ex Alberta Liberal Leadership Candidate Kerry Cundal joining Greg Clark, MLA, Alberta Party, Calgary-Elbow & his cadre. She's all uppity despite the fact that Darshan Kang, MP, Independent, Calgary-Skyview was caught selling multiple Alberta Liberal memberships with the same email on them in order to rig the vote for her. This despite the fact that Alberta Liberal rules stated that each membership sold have to have a separate email. And Mrs. Cundal may run for Alberta Party Leader with extreme bitterness I might add.
Then we have Greg Clark possibly running to succeed himself as Interim Alberta Party Leader to succeed himself as Alberta Party Leader. Joe Clark & Mister Diefenbaker & I believe Joey Smallwood are prime examples of this & I believe all failed. On top of this you have the Stephen Mandelites threatening Alberta Liberal Party President Karen Sevcik directly & trying to force her to fold the Grits into the Alberta Party. All this despite the fact its Alberta Social Credit that has the momentum for MMXIX.
The Alberta Party says its a serious choice for Albertans in the byelection in YYC-Lougheed on December XIVth. Yet they don't even have the courage to run a byelection candidate. The Alberta Liberals who are more poorly organized are running their Leader Dave Khan. It shows the Alberta Liberals want to have an electoral presence while the Alberta Party is running around like a chicken with its head chopped off.
Then, we have recent Edmonton Mayoral Candidate Mike Butler whose home is in foreclosure saying he is going to run for Alberta Party Leader. He can't even keep the framing up of his own house, how in the hell could he frame a stable centrist political party? Mike even said Wade Izzard was faking his injury, despite the fact he saw Wade sitting in a wheelchair with his artificial leg at a function.
Then we have now Former III term St. Albert Mayor Nolan Crouse also joining the Alberta Party. Why in the hell would they accept him as a party member when he literally crapped all over the Alberta Liberals & quit as the only registered Alberta Liberal Leadership candidate just II days before the filing deadline for candidates? Thus forcing the Grits to run the two also ran second-tier Calgary lawyers Candidate Cundal (as already mentioned above) & the winning Candidate Dave Khan who believes he as a better chance of becoming Alberta Premier than Rachel has of winning a IInd term: BE SERIOUS!
And Nolan While Still Mayor Was Convicted Of Corruption In St. Albert Courts,

Dear Dave:
On this the occasion of my XLIIIrd (43rd) birthday, I am as always ever so proud to share it with veterans & active duty armed forces personnel. They work to keep us safe, past & present along with law enforcement work to keep us safe both home & abroad. Students of military history & their families should be very appreciative!
Thanks Kindly,
Rory

Dear Dave:
A little extra culture & highbrow art tonight as I head to Cineplex Theatres (TM) to see an exhibition of Venetian Art by excellente Italiano Nuovo Rinascimento artisana Giovanni Antonio Canal or "Canaletto" on screen. Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth The IInd has endorsed these pieces & extraordinary access has been granted to both Buckingham Palace & Windsor Castle for the viewing public to see them. If its the reigning Monarch's stuff, it must be excellent & film students, as well as art students should go see this film if they cannot travel to England to see it personally!

Dear Dave:
After LXXXI (81) glorious years, film students & others will say goodbye to an old friend as the Edmonton Film Society (EFS) shows its last film & the marquee goes dark here at the Glenora former Royal Alberta Museum site: "Casablanca", one of countless thousands of films that have been showcased through Monday at VIII (8) PM screenings for years. Partly due to an aging population & a lack of volunteers (due to the fact many seniors don't want to contribute or are too decrepit in health to do so in many cases), as well as skyrocketing costs with admission rates not following suit, it was time to let go. Sad because seniors are not going to pay $30. to $50. or more to park to see a $5. film at the new downtown location, too impractical. Plus they'd have to fight for Rogers Place event stalls with Oilers fans & for other events. Note: I offered up 4 people in their 30s, myself & 2 in their 20s to keep the film society going in 2014, so its a bit rich for them to claim they had no volunteers plus the museum was willing to let them stay. And the seniors many of whom have money didn't want to pay any more than $5. admission, not even say $6. with $5. being the same price I paid for the 35 plus years of Monday nights I attended with my mom & then later alone after she died!
For some seniors, this is their only night out of the week & the new museum is not friendly to those folks celebrating their "golden years." So as we say goodbye to Rick, Ilsa & overcome our shock, shock at finding that gambling is going on in this establishment, we mourn the loss of a truly great friend & the sadness in the building closure being forced on EFS members by Alberta Infrastructure & Culture when the Monday night screenings should be able to continue in perpetuity: especially as they add to Alberta's rich film culture.

Sure there is already the "show & tell" segments in classrooms to give students confidence in public speaking. However, wouldn't it be just great if students could learn to do some of the paperwork of teachers & teaching assistants? This would give them some extra experience in clerical functions.

Great movie this new Mark Felt film & how he helped bring down the corruption of the then XXXVIIth US President Richard Nixon, Republican-California & forced him to resign in disgrace when his crimes were exposed. Liam Neeson gives a stellar performance film students will be glad to know (like he does in every film.) I enjoyed the film from the sublime Princess Theatre II in Old Strathcona. What does it say that the five living Former Commanders-In-Chief of the U.S. of A. have done more for hurricane relief efforts with their reach out video & their Hurricane Relief Concert in College Station, Texas last night before a sold out audience than the current occupant of The White House, XLVth President Donald Trump, Republican-New York & the entire current US Government? And good on Lady Gaga for showing up, man oh man is she ever a talented artisan!
I for one would love to thank the Former Chief Executives personally for taking "command" of the situation & actually helping people.
XXXIXth President James Earl "Jimmy" Carter, Jr., Democratic-Georgia
XLIInd President William Jefferson Clinton, Democratic-Arkansas
XLIVth President Barack Hussein Obama, Democratic-Illinois
Maybe we should ask that the keys to The Oval Office be turned over to President Carter or President Bush Senior as they are each eligible to serve another full IV year term. Anything would be better than the horrid response by 45!

Congrats on your new Parliamentary Secretary of Education Annie McKitrick, MLA, B. Sci., M. Ed., New Democratic, Sherwood Park. Hopefully she'll be a great asset to you in helping get proper funding to students & classrooms directly. As the mother of two adopted children, she can be very good on encouraging adoption of children to good families who might not otherwise be able to have their own children. Thus giving them a chance to be educated in Alberta classrooms with a solid family foundation.

Dear Dave:
As my mom, the world's greatest teacher ever the late Mrs. June C. Koopmans, B. Ed. reminds us from upstairs: in today's 24/7 fast paced world we need here at Executive Dissertations to remind folks driving by, entering, exiting, & leaving polling stations to have a little extra patience. An election worker may be in the bathroom or attending to a matter outside the voting area so you may have to wait a bit. Plus many polling stations are in & around schools. As a result @VisionZeroYEG reminds voters to be patient & adhere to all speed limits, especially with students coming in & out of school, & parents not just there to vote, they are going to be there to drop off or pick up their kids.

Dear Dave:
Here in Cowtown it sure is funny to watch the whining sissy/fairy/nancy boy Mayor Naheed Nenshi (who still has his mommy cook for him every night) complain that his main competitor Bill Smith has "too much money." Naheed didn't complain when he was at the top of the money heap the last two mayoral election cycles & all he has done is screw up Calgary this last term. His deadbeat progressive ideas are leading to a brain drain in both the corporate & union sectors. Billy is more organized, & the big money is behind him because he is running the kind of quality election campaign that Naheed used to. Candidate Nenshi is just sad that if he loses his mayor's chair, he'll lose any chance to springboard into the Alberta Party as a Calgary candidate & eventually seizing the leadership away from Greg Clark, MLA, Alberta Party, Calgary-Elbow who will never be Premier as long as he represents Alison Redfjord's old riding!
Naheed Is Rather Flighty Have You Noticed That Like An "Angry Bird" In Flight & Also How Violent He Gets In The Face As He Tears Up If You Disagree With Him On Anything Just Like Many Left Wing Progressives: He Looks Like He Is Gonna Take A Dump In His Pants With His Psychotic Eyeballs Popping Out Of His Head & The Biting of His Lower Lip (I Won't Tell Him Trump Is Coming To Calgary Next Week),

October XIIIth, MMXVII
Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder
Dear Dave:
Mayor Don Iveson & other candidates are constantly talking about building a more "inclusive" city that is for all Edmontonians. So why don't they commit to holding at least I (1) City Council Meeting in each of the city's XII (12) wards during the next council term & thus allowing Edmontonians to see their council in action & up close? Ward 6 doesn't need any special arrangements because that is where City Hall is but the other 11 wards have City owned facilities such as recreation centres where meetings could be held in the arena. Or perhaps in a church/mosque/temple or even a community hall to make students & the their families feel truly part of the democratic process.
I wish I could take credit for this process of thought/idea but it was suggested to me by a gentleman & his husband who were attending the IIIrd Mayoral Forum with their really cute surrogate delivered little girl. A real Bob Ligertwood "sweetie" to be sure: she was so precocious when running around at the back of the room at the coffee break & I almost got run down by her that she had to just randomly tell me that she was "really pretty" & I most vociferously agreed with her! And I told her dads that & we got to talking & they gave me this idea & it would have been my question if my ticket number had called. The two gents & their girl (a very nice family I must say) told me they were Ward 10 residents & just couldn't get to City Hall very easily & would love it if "City Hall came to them."

Dear Dave:
We have the Sturgeon River-Parkland federal byelection on to replace the very lovely & bright & talented former MP, Hon. Rona Ambrose, PC, Conservative. Yes this can cause voter confusion what with the civic election on October XVIth. But it is very important for voters to vote in both as the federal writ is on October XXIIIrd with Advance Polls starting tomorrow. What a pity Rona quit but I can understand how she didn't want as the Ex-Interim Tory Leader to overshadow the new leader, the Hon. Andrew Scheer, PC, MP, Conservative, Regina-Qu-Appelle. Here in "The Grove" the feeling is the Tories will easily hold this riding.

Dear Dave:
As a person with Asperger's Syndrome or "high-functioning" autism, I see all colours of the colour spectrum like many autistics. So I can truly appreciate Ward 4 Edmonton City Council Candidate Wade Izzard & his efforts to court the votes of autistic adults & their families by having campaign literature printed on multiple colour choices in a rainbow fashion. As I'm constantly told I am dumb & stupid almost every day & mocked openly to my face because I can sometimes relate better to colours before I can relate to people & their faces (& as it is so frequent I am starting to believe that it is true in my case), I respect that Winnipeg, Manitoba proudly born on the banks of the Assiniboia River Wade Izzard (just like his late cousin Academy Award (TM) Winner Miss Deanna Durbin) is doing this campaign flyer style in order to make it less scary for autistic people like me to participate in this election & the learning of the democratic process. I wish him well as he hands these multi-coloured brochures out on the doors!

The School Trustee Candidates-Mrs. Johner
October IXth, MMXVII
Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder
Dear Dave:
I can be truly thankful that in MMX when I ran against Candidate Cheryl Johner for Ward A Edmonton Public Schools Trustee that she was ever so classy. Now running for a IIIrd term in order to replace herself, Cheryl waxes on about how proud she is at being mom to her kids in addition to serving as the trustee for the area. Wanting parents who are excited about education is smart for the decision-making process of the board & thus decisions are made that are really helpful for the students.
"I have four fabulous children, three boys & a girl. Their ages are 25, 24, 21, & 18 years old. My children all graduated from Edmonton Public Schools. Their school journeys have all been great experiences."

Rory

Dear Dave:
It makes me wonder what the Alberta Legislative Assembly does sometimes. Now listen & sing once again with me a strange duet. The powerful suggestion I give to you grows stronger yet. Yet it makes sense, why is there not an Alberta Assembly Committee of the Whole led by the pages on youth issues? I mean they are right there on the floor advising you during sessions whilst also going to school. Who better to advise MLAs on youth matters than youth themselves? This would seem rather obvious to me & also rather Don Juan Triumphant in its simplicity as it wouldn't cost the Province a dime as the pages are already on their affixed salaries. Of course The Phantom's salary has not been paid, which Finance Minister Joe Ceci is familiar with by running such high deficits that NDP MLAs are leaving the government caucus.
