Dear Demetrios:
Proving once again it is "amateur hour" at The Edmonton Journal there was a great column this past Saturday by disability advocate Don Slater on the terrible government policies to cut AISH disability benefits for the very poorest Albertans. Awful with the many billions your UCP Government has wasted. The column indicated that Mr. Slater was the Liberal MLA Edmonton-Strathcona. He was a very worthwhile candidate & classy gentleman in the byelection there recently for the Alberta Liberals, but it was Naheed Nenshi, the New Democratic candidate who won that byelection & was sworn in what a week ago today?! Frankly I don't know how a mistake like that slips by the editors it is rather subpar/asleep at the switch journalism. In fact, it serves to insult Elections Alberta which counted the votes & certified Mr. Nenshi had won, not Mr. Slater. Still I don't totally fault Edmonton Journal team members as the cutbacks in the number of journalists/broadcasters have been atrocious. Thus leaving them quite starved for being able to provide proper coverage. This byelection was a public record with recorded numbers for what a month in 2 days from now! There hasn't been any Alberta Liberal MLAs in the Legislature Bvilding for many years!
Ridiculous & Disgusting,
Rory
