Dear David:

What a brilliant move by the University of Alberta to reappoint Fern Smart as their Dean of Education. She has won many awards and skillfully filled in at lower administrative levels. She is especially well known IV her work as Vice-Dean in promoting aboriginal educational rights. She has doubled faculty & research grants to her department to over 32 million $ by networking. This is stellar to say the least.

I certainly wish her much success in steering the Education Department through these tough economic times in her second term of office.
