Dear David:

I certainly approve of Alberta Education's move II drop the forced teaching of religion curriculum. While I with a Christian background enjoyed Religious Meanings XX through Edmonton Christian High School (Public) & Religious Studies XV, XXV, XXXV through St. Gabriel Storefront Online Cyber School (Public/Catholic) in St. Albert: there are just students who are quite rightly uncomfortable about religion.

What I like is that parental rights are added in this Bill XLIV (44) equation. A parent's input is just as important as the student's. After all, it is they who decide when & where their child will attend school. With the open borders policy in Alberta, that could be anywhere.

It should be the child's prerogative II say when s/he is ready (or not) II learn about religious doctrines & tenets. That is, in tandem with their parent/guardian.
