Dear David:
Students going back to school & their family members that accompany them need to keep bicycle safety in mind. When a student gets off their bicycle & walks their bike across crosswalks, they have the "right-of-way" over the road whereas if they bike across, automobiles have that "right-of-way." So when going to school, its wise to have students & others (including parents/guardians) to get off their bicycles at school crosswalks & thus ensure themselves (& drivers negotiatiating those crosswalks) an immediate higher level of safety. Parents need to make sure that their kids who are XVIII (18) & under by law must wear a bicycle helmet. Its definitely a great idea if these parents also show an example & wear a helmet as well. This is to protect their child's brain so they have maximum cognitive function, or at least as little neurological damage as possible in the event of any possible incident.
The Less Brain Damage The Quicker The Recovery Time,
Rory
