Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

It truly is amazing Mister Minister what a person can learn at a library. A group of summer students here is studying geography of African nations for a summer learning project: & their special focus today is Ethiopia.

1. The IInd highest mountain in Ethiopia is the Tullu Demtu at 4,377 m. or 14,360 ft. (part of the Bale Mountains range), while the highest is in the Semien range: the Ras Deshen which is 4,550 m or 14,928 ft.

2. The mountain plateaus align on the northern face to an equal level of the eastern section of Sudan.

3. Fissures or breaks in the mountains are like anywhere else the result of water causing erosion. However the water has helped developed the hills which causes the plateaus.

Lake Tana Is Ethiopia's Chief Resevoir,

Rory
