Hon. Adriana LaGrange, MLA, Minister of Education, United Conservative, Red Deer-North

Dear Adriana:

On this the XCVIIth (97th) Birthday of XXXIXth President Of The United States James Earl "Jimmy" Carter, Jr., Democratic-Georgia,  municipal election candidates, & those who sought federal office recently should take pause to see that they can have a good life post electorally from whatever political office(s) they held. President Carter fought his last fight electorally what XL (40) years ago & lost to Mr. Reagan of California (although born in Illinois) in the MCMLXXX (1980) Presidential election. But as we wish him Happy Birthday & critics state that he wasn't that great of a President. Let us remember that he brought an everlasting peace to Egypt & Israel that has held to this day. He also started up his Carter Center in Atlanta to promote peace & helping the poor. For which he & his lovely wife of 3/4th's of a century Rosalyn do fabulous work in promoting better living standards for less through the Center & through affiliated charities such as Habitat IV Humanity. For which he came up here to Edmonton to build houses for a week, just a wonderful man is Jimmy. I'm (as stated before) allergic to peanut butter & peanuts & am a "Nixon Man" (also of California), but in a display of bipartisanship, I think "39" has done a lot of good including a Nobel Prize win for these efforts in his long IV decades in the shadows! Municipal/Civic politics are not supposed to be about party matters or political parties anyway. It seems a shame that party politics are constantly invading them.

A Lifelong Partnership,

Rory
