Dear Jeff:

As Executive Dissertations Wednesday focus continues on Premiers of Alberta, we look today at the great Ralph P. Klein, who was our XIIth (12th) Premier from December XIVth, MCMXCII-December XIVth, MMVI, a total of XIV (14) years. The IIIrd longest in provincial history & only VII (7) weeks & IV (4) days short of breaking Premier E. Peter Lougheed's record.

- Ralph started out in media as a broadcast journalist.

- Ralph was Mayor of Calgary for III (3) terms & successfully brought the MCMLXXXVIII (1988) Winter Olympic Games to Calgary, his home town. He was known as the "people's mayor" & would have a drink or two with average citizens at bars to get the feel of the city & its residents so he could relate to them better.

- Ralph was one of only III (3) Premiers to win IV (4) terms of office more. The others being Premier Ernest C. Manning with VII (7) terms & Premier E. Peter Lougheed with IV (4) terms. He also represented Calgary-Elbow like his successor's successor as Premier, Alison Redford. Unlike Redford, you could respect Ralph Klein

- Ralph got excited about education as Premier & while in office he obtained a Bachelor of Communications Degree from Athabasca University, also where I got my Bachelor of Administration Degree from.

- Sadly, Ralph is no longer with us, having died from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), a lung disease & Pick's Disease, a rare form of dementia. We lost Ralph & his political smarts at age LXX (70), let his death raise awareness of these terrible diseases so that others who suffer from them can be helped.

A huge argument & outright fight has just broken out here between II patrons over a library computer. To prevent arguments in the future, Edmonton Public Library (EPL) patrons should let EPL staff settle disputes b4 they get out of hand. Obviously, both EPL customers needed the library terminal IV study purposes, I was so agitated by it, I am giving up my computer terminal after I write this blog from across the room so that both sides will settle down & the EPL staffer can get her headache over the matter done with.

11. Beverly has done Broadway, television, film & many other acting formats. In being so talented, she can be a shining example to students hoping II get inII the acting field.

A murder victim has been found out lying over the gutter in the middle of a crowded street. What's weird is it in the Beverly Hills neighbourhood, which is of a higher class of Los Angeles satellite districts. No one had seen him in awhile, but he had been married once before & his ex-wife's contact information was found on his person by Sergeant Joe Friday of the Los Angeles Police Department who has been sent II investigate.

"We found out the victim's ex-wife had come out several times to the Vermont Avenue bar the victim had frequented when he had failed to make the monthly payments for the support of the children. Each time they had argued bitterly. We knew from where we found the body it was a dump job because there was no trail of blood surrounding the body, so he had to have been killed at some alternate location."

Today we focus on Former XIIIth (13th) Premier of Alberta Edward "Ed" M. Stelmach. He's truly an interesting gentleman.

- Ed is a shining example of bilingualism, he speaks both Ukranian & English fluently, & was taught Ukranian first growing up in the Lamont area where he was born. Definitely an example for students to follow as knowing more than one language is a definite asset for students.

- Ed is a farmer by vocation & so has many farming & agricultural skills II pass onto future generations.

- Ed served as the Member of the Legislature Assembly (MLA) IV Vegreville-Viking until the riding was abolished & reconfigured. He then served as the MLA for the newly reconstituted Fort Saskatchewan-Vegreville.

- Ed served as a Lamont County Councillor & later as Reeve, considered an equal title to that of Mayor.

- Ed is married to the vivacious & quite charming (I'm sure he'll agree) Marie & they have four children, that is three sons & one daughter.

I was out having coffee & breakfast at a restaurant along Stony Plain Road earlier this morning. A little girl was asking her mom why the police had "so many cars outside." The child was a bit young for mom too say that the Edmonton Police Service had cordoned off the road b/c of a murder investigation. So mom instead thought quickly & said it was b/c the police had to close the road to "catch some bad guys." I thought this was a good explanation b/c the mom was saying to the child that folks need to cooperate with police, including little boys & girls. So she was instilling a sense of trust & happiness in the girl that the police were indeed keeping people (including her & her mom safe.)

Enterprise on Star Trek: The Next Generation (TM, Paramount Pictures Corporation.) She's also a strong role model for young girls & women who want to get inII medical &/or science careers as well as commanding much respect from her colleagues.

1. Held the rank of "Full Commander", equal to that of Commander William T. Riker, the Enterprise's First Officer during the Enterprise's initial voyage. Mr. Spock was never higher than the rank of "Lieutenant Commander" during Captain Kirk's initial V (5) year voyage.

2. Dr. Crusher was born in Copernicus City, Luna, in other words: the Moon.

To cover off a shortage of patrol officers with the rank of "Officer", Sergeant Joe Friday of the Los Angeles Police Department offers to work a patrol shift protecting students who are off for the Good Friday holiday during the day watch. A XXI (21) year old male college student who was babysitting his two little underage brothers who were playing baseball in a park has been found shot three times & stabbed as well in a set of trees on the west side of the park. A colleague in another squad car has just offered to radio IV an ambulance as the Sarge cannot leave the scene until it can be cordoned off II start the investigative process & the two younger brothers can be taken home or to the nearest police station IV their parents to pick them up. The young man has just died so Sgt. Friday has an even heavier burden in his voice as he responds gravely:

"You'd better call the coroner."

Five dead students, & right in our own province's borders! Just a few days ago here in Executive Dissertations you will recall I asked when will these violent school incidents ever stop? Well, I've sadly got my answer & it appears to be NEVER! It seems a pity that a concerned citizen can't borrow Calgary Police Service Officer de Grood's service revolver & put his whack job son Matthew out of commission IVever. Of course then we'd be coming down to his level, but then again one bullet has got to be cheaper than three square meals a day & life in prison w/o parole. Its a lot better than the students from the University Of Calgary got in terms of fate, better than this piece of garbage deserves! Their only crime: that they wanted to celebrate the start of their life journey's.

Prof. Schwartz was featured on American Broadcasting Company (ABC) News "Nightline With Ted Koppel" in an interview about having Lou Gehrig's Disease or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) & dying from it. They talked about life, death, and a wide array of topics & the professor had many wise idioms to impart.

Students & their family's definitely need II take part in the MMXIV City Of Edmonton Census, & now for the first time ever, folks can do their census online. I did mine from a library terminal computer last Saturday afternoon. It was very convenient. Having accurate raw data will ensure City officials can get proper funding for things like street repairs, schools, hospitals, basic infrastructure, etc. Get students interested in government, maybe even being census workers on weekends as well, this will allow them to earn a small income & about responsible government at the same time.

Dear Jeff:

I. The students at the Alberta Legislature were adept in noticing just how haunting & powerful the speeches by MLA's were on the Truth & Reconciliation Matter of Aboriginal Residential Schools, in particular Pearl Calahasen, MLA, Progressive Conservative, Lesser Slave Lake, a woman of Ist Nation's heritage & an abuse survivor from the schools.

II. The students at the Alberta Legislature were adept in noticing that the II (2) seeing eye dogs for two blind persons in the MLA Guest Gallery were growling & barking less than the MLA's on the Legislative Assembly floor. Or as the Hon. Gene Zwozdesky, MLA, Progressive Conservative, Edmonton-Millcreek, & Assembly Speaker says: "this place has truly gone II the dogs." Of course Former Madam Premier Alison Redford, QC, MLA, Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Elbow states: "I was sure great students at feeding senior citizens & other vulnerable Albertans II (2) the wolves wasn't I?"

III. The students at the Alberta Legislature were adept in noticing that Heather Forsyth, MLA, Wildrose, Calgary-Fishcreek was very good about adjusting her eye shadow with her compact & eyebrow pencil very discreetly so as to not wake up her aide dog Quill. They did however find it weird that she lent the compact & eyebrow pencil to Rob Anderson, MLA, Wildrose, Airdrie afterwards. Of course I explained to the students that this weirdness can be accounted in the fact that these II (2) used to be Progressive Conservative MLA's, to which the students countered: "this explains everything."

IV. The students at the Alberta Legislature were adept in noticing the Hon. Thomas Lukaszuk, MLA, Progressive Conservative, Edmonton-Castledowns & Minister of Jobs Skills & Labour had a new haircut. They also noticed that to get rid of the mullet he used II (2) have, his charming bride Stacey placed a wooden salad bowl around his head & cut around it. Thomas asked me why my head was shaved bald yesterday after Question Period ended & I told him that my hair had fallen out at the extravagance of the proposed Redford/Bates Motel Suite expenditure in the Federal Bvilding.

V. The students at the Alberta Legislature were adept in noticing that Former Madam Premier Redford wasn't in attendance yesterday in the Chamber. The students at the Alberta Legislature were adept in noticing that Brian Mason, MLA, New Democrat, Edmonton-Highlands-Norwood pointed out that North Korea had a stable government, just like the XLIII (43) plus years of Progressive Conservative rule here in this sublime province. They were adept yet again in pointing out that only a Socialist Pinko politician (albeit elected) would point out that an insane Communist mind-controlled regime would be in charge in Alberta, um North Korea (my bad!).

I've always found Alberta & Federal Liberal Party member & supporter William Wade Izzard quite a fascinating guy.

1. William Wade was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba's Misericordia Hospital, same name as Edmonton's.

2. William Wade organized the first successful fundraising dinner for Federal Liberal Leadership Candidate Justin Trudeau & it was a huge financial success.

3. William Wade enjoys dining out at fine restaurants around Edmonton, with his favourite being steak themed restaurants like Ruth Chris's Steak House.

4. William Wade is very good as an organizer, he holds banquet serving, bartending, & hotel management certificates.

5. William Wade is a regular church going man & strong in his Christian faith, attending the People's Church on 156th Street.

7. William Wade shows students daily that he is a big supporter of public transport that's reliable as he uses the Edmonton Transit Service IV his commuting needs.

She wasn't my biological aunt but was such a close family friend I called her "Auntie" & was proud to do so. Sadly, she also died too young like mom & in the same year, MMXII (2012.)

I'm here at the Meadowlark Employment Centre helping a senior citizen without mobility issues fill in documents & online forms to apply for Canada Pension Plan & Old Age Security when they turn 65 in four months from now.

There's an immigrant gentleman named Pablo here from Guatemala here applying for work with Lafrentz Road Marking. He's a student & is looking at possible painting & labour work to supplement his income & the job will last until January MMXV if he gets the seasonal appointment, this is perfect as its when he intends to go back II school, plus there's a chance it could be permanent.

Having sent letters once or twice by paper mail to Members of Parliament (MP's), Senators, & Governors General myself, I can truly see the value in this service. If students & their family's want to really raise concerns about educational & other matters with federal politicians & Her Majesty's Representative for the Dominion Of Canada, they should do so by regular paper mail. If they sent it to Ottawa & put MP, Senator, or Governor-General on the Envelope its postage free. Plus, its just as cheap as sending and email. Since the comments &/or concerns being raised are in a sealed envelope, you as a constituent student are more likely to get an answer, & you don't have to be a constituent student, as long as you put the designated title of the representative on the envelope, you are free to mail anyone on Parliament Hill. Just as long as you write to them in Ottawa, b/c if you send your envelope to a constituency office, standard postage rates apply so students who want to save money follow these examples.
