Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA
Minister of Education,

Dear Jeff:

I like the premise of the kids movie "Monsters University." While a funny student & family focused cartoon, it also showcases that higher learning at post-secondary & technical institutions is IV all, no matter what your sex, race, creed, or colour. With monsters substituting IV humans in this case in order to get this message to student & young kids who will be entering the education system eventually & are currently fans of monster tales.

Dear Jeff:

A truly great acting legend died recently in New Jersey actor & Rutgers University graduate James Gandolfini. Who of course played mob boss Tony Soprano on Home Box Office's (HBO's) "The Sopranos" & many other fine roles.

"To us he's best known as a loyal son of Rutgers and a graduate of the class of MCMLXXXIII (1983) who has been continuously and deeply involved with this institution throughout his all too short life. He came to Rutgers, as did his two older sisters. He went onto a spectacular career, but never forgot his roots here - never turned down a phone call or a request to be a supporter of Rutgers."

Just Got Reelected to A IInd Term As Calgary Mayor Without A Single Ballot Being Cast

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin.

Edmonton, Alberta T5R 5Z2

June XXVth, MMXIII

Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA
Minister of Education,
Progressive Conservative, Athabasca-Sturgeon-RedH2O

Dear Jeff:

While I agree that it was absolutely needed that you allow Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi to grant students exemptions from Grade XII high school diploma examinations, I also believe it was astute to make the exemptions voluntary. As crazy as it seems, there will be students in the affected flood areas who want the best mark possible & enjoy the challenge of doing their absolute best. They of course do this so that they can get into the best post-secondary or technical institutions possible, as well as qualifying IV grants towards their education, etc. Needless to Naheed is very astute b/c all the graduating Grade XII's who are XVIII (18) & over will now pay him back with their vote in the October Calgary election for Mayor.

Dear Jeff:

That was certainly a wise decision by yourself & Her Majesty's Government to close schools last week & IV part of this week in Calgary, High River, & other flood ravaged areas. I commend you & civic/town/county officials IV taking these actions. While education is important, the safety of this great province's schoolchildren & their family's is even more important!

Excellent initiatives in the great city of Winnipeg, Manitoba by Canada's IV western Premiers. Responsible Property Ownership

June XVIIth, MMXIII

Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Athabasca-Sturgeon-RedH2O

Dear Jeff:

Students who become property owners one day need to make sure that they take proper care of their lands, both developed & undeveloped. If they are developing the property, any garbage or recyclable material such as wood off a fence needs to be hauled away properly in a garbage container to a dump where it can be sorted out. Another option is to haul the wood to an acreage or even a city property with a properly enclosed firepit (where you get the owner's permission to place the wood on his/her property) so that it can be safely burned in said pit.

June XIIIth, MMXIII

Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Athabasca-Sturgeon-RedH2O

Dear Jeff:

That was certainly a wise precaution by school principals & administrators including teachers to cancel some classes yesterday so that students could get home safely before the storm weather got to violent. It was also smart of these individuals to keep their students inside until a parent/guardian, or otherwise safety approved driver came to pick up these students in person. This of course ensured a greater safety factor in getting home IV these students so they'd be able to relax, study, & spend time with their family's w/o having II worry about getting injured or worse.

June XIIth, MMXIII

Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Athabasca-Sturgeon-RedH2O

Dear Jeff:

While I certainly agree with the high school students right to protest & to peaceful assembly, I cannot support them walking out on their school day. Especially as many of them were walking out on assigned exams, which of course will have to be rescheduled at a later date. That being said, it was good to let students know about governance & the fact that they have the right to protest the educational system & any cutbacks that they see as unjustified. What they should have done is marched after school, or say on a Saturday or Sunday. If they had done this, more people would have noticed their message.

Marching Strong,

Dear Jeff:

Rev. William Wade Izzard of the Universal Life Church Canada & other sources sent me this fascinating artcle. In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the Governor & state & city & educational officials are shutting down anywhere from XXIII-XXXVII schools just to build a new $400 million U.S. super maximum security prison. Now how in the hell does make sense. Knifing students in the back out of the right to a decent education just to house rapists & murderers in the back so they can live in comfort! Has the world gone absolutely NUTS?

Rory

Dear Jeff:

Last week Friday, May XXXIst, I was privileged to attend the "Body Worlds & The Cycle of Life" exhibit with Rev. William Wade Izzard of the Universal Life Church in the afternoon. Its a glorious exhibit at the Telus World Of Science Edmonton. Its great IV students who are interested in biology & medicine the basic inner workings of the human bodies on cadavers that were donated to science. The preservatives used IV the display prevent the bodies from rotting. Thus giving people of all ages & disorders who have died a chance to show their internal organs so that they can be studied from & analyzed to help medical & scientific professionals deal with future patients.

Thought Provoking,

Rory

The Western Conference Final

Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Athabasca-Sturgeon-RedH2O

Dear Jeff:

Last night on 630AM CHED's broadcast of the 720AM WGN radio feed of the Western Conference Final Game #II between the two great National Hockey League (NHL) stalwarts, the Los Angeles Kings & the Chicago Blackhawks from Chicago, Illinois something great happened. The broadcast booth team reminded all Chicagoans & their family's, including students II give blood as they could save one or more lives. I cannot think of a better place that that of an intimate/personal radio setting than to remind students to help. People of all ages need blood, heck, even animals need & donate blood if injured or for say a medical disorder. So from a scientific & medical basis, a hockey broadcast taught students to do the right thing & give.

"Blood, Its In You II Give",
