It is time II celebrate proudly! In fact I'd say it is time II pull out another lesson plan from "The Master" on what would have been her 71st birthday. Lets reach up IV the stars & call on Afton Elementary's teacher extraordinare & my mother, Mrs. June C. Koopmans, B. Ed. II issue out birthday greetings from up on high to show students of today just how hard working she was & how much fun she had in being an educator!
PLANS
Monday, June 5th, 1972:
Writing: - help students make stories of both fun things surrounding them, as well as with topics in areas they are interested in: say a recent family outing. This will encourage to express themselves and engage in both the written and spoken word, thus giving them confidence.
Reading: - Book: "Aunt Susan's Cloak."

Spelling: - #35A, encourage students to make alternate words from a set of letters to stimulate their thinking on the spot.
Story: - get the students to read the first drafts of their stories.
Library: 2:45PM; Grade 2 meeting.

Entertainment: - drawings of services:
a. taxi. b. service station. c. restaurant.
d. dept. store. e. barber or beauty parlour.
