Dear David:

Check out the success story now that is the Chicago Talent Charter High School. They have a program called the "Diplomas Now Program." They use student peers to increase attendance rates. As a result, daily attendance of the kids is now up from LVI (56%) to XC (90%) in less than V(5) years. XCII (92%) of those kids are set to graduate in the normal timeframe and at least 3/4th's want to continue on with some form of technical training or postsecondary endeavours.

The student peers take time II listen to the kids needs, both academic & personal. The kids are then motivated to succeed. What with their stress levels lowered, they're more relaxed & thus focus their homework activity's at a faster & more highly cognitive rate. The program is so well thought of that Illinois has expanded it to X (10) other States & The District Of Columbia.

Conquering Adversity,

Rory
