February XXVIIIth, MMXVII

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

Smoothies are definitely a great breakfast option for students. I love blueberries with flax seed as pictured above. It is important to remember that for the very best in nutritional value, smoothies should be made with real fruits &/or vegetables & not packaged fruit flavouring.

February XXVIIth, MMXVII

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA
Minister of Education,
New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

The "think freely" section of books is great at Edmonton Public Library (EPL) Branch locations. It encourages artisans & thinkers to not only appreciate their own ideas, & talents; they get read about what others think. Who knows, maybe there can be some collaboration among these free thinking students & others to come up with even more ideas!

February XXVIth, MMXVII

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

It would be great if students could get discounted contracted driving school rates. Then they could once they turn XVIII (18) take lessons to be taxi or Uber drivers. This would certainly allow them to make money to pay their collegiate/trade school costs.

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

Scanners are sure great, especially for when I am here in a library applying for jobs that only takes applications by fax or mail, and not in an email unless scanned in as a separate word attachment. The fax here is broken so the scanner is great not just for me, but for students scanning in assignments & such!

Taxed To Death!

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #23, 9731-174 Street, Edmonton, Alberta T5T 6G4

February XXIInd, MMXVII

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

Tax season is upon us. Students who work must of course file tax returns like any adult ratepayer. So they should make sure to saver their T-4 & T-5 slips like their fellow family members in order so they can file a proper return. Also as tax receipts are strictly sent regular mail, they should have a proper listed mailing address with postal code in place for Revenue Canada & the Alberta Provincial Treasury.

That's Rather Taxing,

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

The nice thing about The Program Room here at the Sprucewood Branch EPL is it is so near the main study area on one level. in this way, kids with temper tantrums who are say walked over there for a "timeout" can still be relaxed & happier much quicker knowing that their family is close at hand!

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

In this tough economy, students starting new p/t jobs & those folks starting a new f/t position should "hasten" to work & display the best positive attitude. In this way, they are more likely to make an impression & thus hold the job longer.

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA
Minister of  Education,

Dear Dave:

I was shown a Grade XII practice Social Studies XXX exam earlier this morning & I noticed that the edges are sharper than normal & the paper had ripples in it. This Dave could cause students to cut their hands if they are running their figures over them. Perhaps the matter should be looked into to ensure that no actual exams are like this at the educational printer being ready for shipment!

February XVIIth, MMXVII

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

Sure students volunteer as crossing guards along with parents/teaching staff at the start & end of each day. But wouldn't it be great Dave if we could pay students from say high schools a small stipend to be crossing guards where there are shortages of volunteers. In this way, they can earn a little money towards their educational costs, plus as there are no school zones by high schools, they wouldn't be making their own schools suffer in any way.

This Is The House That Jeff Rath (Didn't) Built (Allegedly)

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #6, 14504-108 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5N 1G8

February XIVth, MMXVII

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

I love how the Richard Starke Campaign allowed lawyer Jeff Rath of Rath & Company to fundraise (allegedly) for them. It shows that the Starkeites are only choosing fundraisers (allegedly) of the finest & most ethical of character (allegedly.)

I love it as Jeff Rath withheld (allegedly) $2 million plus in a trust (allegedly) from Peguis First Nations Band in the building of a hotel at the racetrack & gambling facility at Assiniboia Downs in Manitoba (allegedly.)

I love it as how do we know that since Jeff Rath wanted to block my vote (allegedly) & those of all the other delegates (allegedly) who voted in nomination meetings before he (allegedly) placed his idiotic motions before the Progressive Conservative of Alberta Association (PC) Election Executive Committee (allegedly.)

I can feel the love at the occasion of this IInd Saint Valentine's Day Massacre (IIIrd if you count President Trump's NSA Advisor Mike Flynn resigning over his dealings with the Red Russkies) as we don't know whether Jeff Rath has held Starke Campaign donations (allegedly) in numbered trust accounts (allegedly) for the Starke Team (allegedly) in violation of elections for leader (allegedly) & Elections Alberta rules (allegedly.)

February XIIth, MMXVII

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA
Minister of Education,
New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

When I see plaster & exterior paint falling off of the side of older schools which are still in use, I start to wonder why we are building new schools when the older ones could be given some touch up exterior work & host the students who are waiting for a new school. Many of these older buildings are made out of better materials than more modern structures & should be given more care than what they are receiving. Besides, if they are falling apart, it makes them harder to sell for ready cash if they are declared "surplus."

Hollywood, Alberta Squares

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #6, 14504-108 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5N 1G8

February XIth, MMXVII

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

Now the game is played like this. 87 Alberta ridings across, down, or diagonally, & the winner of each game & a majority of the ridings (44 +) receives a mandate to govern & the keys to Room #CCCVII (#307) Legislature Bvilding: The Office of the Premier.

Game Number One offers the split up of the urban & rural seats betwixt the Wildrose & the Progressive Conservatives (PC) whereby the Wildrose don't run competing candidates against rural Progressive Conservative MLAs Richard Starke, MLA, Progressive Conservative, Vermilion-Lloydminster & Wayne Drysdale, MLA, Progressive Conservative, Grande Prairie-Wapiti. With the proviso that Progressive Conservatives don't run competing candidates against Wildrose urban MLAs like Brian Jean, MLA, Wildrose, Fort McMurray-Conklin & Tany Yao, MLA, Wildrose, Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo. Also making sure to adjust for the fact that the New Democratic appointed Electoral Boundaries Commission will of course be "rigging" the ridings to try & ensure a second NDP majority (which is exactly what I would do.)

Game Number Two as always is our "secret square game." The winner of this game is clearly Jason Kenney who if (when) he wins the leadership of the Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta (PC Alberta) should have an off the books handshake agreement for Interim PC Leader Ric McIver, MLA, Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Hays to immediately stand down so that he may contest a byelection as soon as possible. Plus Ric will have it all arranged by booted member of the Kenney camp Alan Hallman to make PC Party Prez Katherine O'Neill extra violent!

Game Number Three allows for the fact that elections used to be for up to & including a five year term. If your caucus colleague, Hon. Rachel Notley, MLA, Premier, New Democratic, Edmonton-Strathcona wanted to run a retroactive cabinet order-in-council through, she might be able to push the next writ back to MMXX (2020) & completely derail plans for opposition groups to figure out proper coalescing stratagems.

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #6, 14504-108 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5N 1G8

February Xth, MMXVII

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

I would think that the outgoing President of the Alberta Teachers Association (ATA) Mark Ramsankar should not be the one who decides whether the names of the CCC (300) folks changing the educational curriculum should be made public. The incoming President & Executive with fresh ideas & a fresh perspective would I argue be more objective than Mark. After all, Mark's focus should be on running the Canadian Teachers Federation as their new President come June when he heads to Ottawa. Mark like you & the New Democratic governing talking heads have an agenda for changing the curriculum & without public consultation & not in a neutral way, but in a way more suited to your socialist philosophy Dave. That isn't right as the curriculum should be neutral & not any hidden or open political agenda, left, centre, or right!

Respect For Art

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., Enterprise Square Public Library Terminal #XI, Edmonton, Alberta

February IXth, MMXVII

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

I wish people would learn to leave the art alone in EPL branches. Last week I was in Castledowns Branch & a patron was trying to yank a piece of art off the wall. Absolutely ridiculous, what if they had dropped it, or worse yet, even damaged it? Take a picture of it like any regular EPL customer would. It is there in a public space for any and all to enjoy & appreciate, especially students who have a study interest in art!

Dear Dave:

Comedian Paul Reiser is back up on the stand-comedy circuit. He gets a charge out of performing & talking about his family life & things that interest him. Having tried stand-up in the past many years ago myself (& thankfully realizing in time that I suck), I can appreciate that it is the most difficult of art forms as you are truly out there on your own & have only yourself to rely on to recover if you falter. But Paul likes to have fun, which is great as it makes the audience more relaxed.

Dear Dave:

I'm strongly encouraged that Her Majesty's New Democratic Government has decided to make all the hearings of the Ministerial Panel convened by your caucus colleague the Hon. Danielle Larivee, B. Sc., B. Sc., MLA, Minister of Children's Services, New Democratic, Lesser Slave Lake is making sure the panels hearings are public with public seating. However, I feel that Danny should open them up to audio podcast like any committee hearing is. Some are even televised but if victims families who testify at the panel are nervous, having audio only, rather than both video & audio would seem like a fair compromise. 73 dead kids betwixt August MMXIV-December MMXVI, is quite frankly 73 too many dead kids & I hope this panel can fix some of the problems with the system. I'm also glad that the spaz Sandra Jansen, M. Comm, MLA, New Democratic, Calgary-North West isn't a panel member!
