Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin.
#6, 14504-108 Avenue
Edmonton, Alberta T5N 1G8

September XXVIIIth, MMXIV

Hon. Gordon Dirks, B. Ed., M. Ed.
Minister of Education,
Progressive Conservative, No Constituency As Unelected

Dan Albas, MP chats about the fact that courts can garner too much power & try & override Parliament. In the world of parliamentary democracy, students who are interested in good governance would do well to heed Dan's words as the legislative & judicial branches of Her Majesty's Government's at all levels must equally powerful so that neither of them abuses power & they can then keep one another in check.

"Often the plan B is to do an end-run around our democratic process and turn to our courts where it seems some judges are quite happy to engage. This can result in decisions contrary to what have been decided in our democratic process."
