Dear Dave:

The title of this post: "And So It Has Come To This" was one of the farewell tag lines of Mr. Johnny Carson on the final episode (some 24 years & 19 days ago) sequence of "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson." I am facing a bladder repair/augmentation surgery. It is somewhat risky as I've been in the queue so long, I have to go under a general anesthetic & I will be hospitalized for a week or more & clearly would not be able to write at my "absolute very best capacity" like I always do.  I could have gone to Montana 6 years ago & spent what $30,000.00 USD (which I didn't have) & had the surgery done the day after I arrived there (had I gone) but here in Canada I must wait & wait & wait & suffer (unless I am a Syrian refugee then I would have gotten it free straight away!) As such, I don't know if I'll even wake up as there can always be a chance of complications from surgery. I've only been waiting 71 months & 3 days for tomorrow's surgery (a mere trifle), so clearly as a Canadian I can see that the health care system is not broken! So maybe I will be back here writing again in a few weeks & maybe this is the last post at Executive Dissertations, but at least I am being given the chance to get better & maybe the specialists at my birth hospital the Royal Alexandra will get me ship shape again! I do believe that we need to have a full on combined public/private combined health system, Alberta Health Services is way too bloated with administration & Albertans are suffering. The corporation should be killed & be put back under the auspices of Alberta Health under the auspices of a Deputy Health Minister who is a Medical Doctor, Ph. D., or even a Registered Nurse. End of story! Thanks for this monstrosity of inefficiency Ron Liepert!
