That Old Black Magic

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #203, 8912-156 Street, Edmonton, Alberta T5R 5Z2

March VIth, MMXII

Hon. Thomas Lukaszuk, MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Edmonton-Castledowns

Dear Thomas:

Sad news II report from the political field. Congressional Representative Donald Payne, Democrat, New Jersey has died of complications from colon cancer at age LXXVII (77.) Having just faced off against it at XXXVII (37) myself & having beaten it, I can certainly sympathize. The Congressman was the first ever African-American elected in MCMLXXXVIII (1988) to the Congress. He sounds like he represented students well as he fought hard IV equal funding formulas IV public education & making post secondary & trade school educational paths more affordable to all. Not just IV African descended students, but IV students of all races, creeds, colors, & socioeconomic backgrounds. He sounds like a politician & person I'd be proud II know!

Deepest Thoughts & Prayers II The Congressman's Family,

Rory
