April XVth, MMXII

Hon. Thomas Lukaszuk, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative Candidate, Edmonton-Castledowns

Dear Thomas:

On Tuesday, August XXXIst (31st), MCMLXXI (1971), my mother, June C. Koopmans, B. Ed, Afton School Teacher's Plans included:

12PM: Enjoy a student assembly at the Afton Elementary School Gym, with an introductory prayer by Rev. Donald C. Frame, Head Minister, Trinity United Church.

1:30PM: Meet students in gym after school year opening ceremony. Have classroom introductions of staff & students in more intimate, smaller setting. Show kids where things are so they are comfortable. Have the students make a fun project: "apple hats" from construction paper.

2:35PM: Early dismissal so students don't feel too much pressure & are excited about the learning process. Also, mention to kids about the importance of being positive members of the community, or "community helpers."

Great History Deserves Recognition,

Rory
