Dear Jeff:

Dr. Rajnish (Raj) Sherman, MD, MLA, Liberal, Edmonton-Meadowlark is right on the money when he says there needs to be more accountability in daycares/dayhomes/home daycares to ensure they are safe for children. Of course he's also right to say that there is a critical shortage of safe daycare spaces that parents can have confidence in. Its a pity the XVIII (18) month old baby girl in Brooks had to die before governing officials realized this.
