Dear Jeff:

As I discussed a few weeks ago with you in this blog, the CLth (150th) anniversary of Abe Lincoln reciting The Gettysburg Address occurred during the same week as the Lth (50th) anniversary of the murder of Jack Kennedy in Dallas. My interest in that conflict & how it shaped the United States & the world, & how it continues to influence even today has never waned.

I picked up a recorded book from the Woodcroft (Westmount) Edmonton Public Library (EPL) of a course taught by the great Professor & historian Jay Winik of the University Of Maryland. Its a series of XIV lectures on VII compact discs. Its called "A House Reunited: How America Survived The Civil War." It has many interesting factoids & anecdotes about that conflict that I never knew & is extremely informative. I congratulate the Professor on a job well done & encourage history students to take this course.

Whistling Dixie,

Rory
