Dear Jeff:

Besides the late & great Jack Webb, the superb actor Ed O'Neill has also played Joe Friday of the Los Angeles Police Department. Albeit with the two ranks of "Detective" & "Lieutenant", whereas Jack played him as a "Sergeant" & "Lieutenant." But as Executive Dissertations begins Year II of its student tributes to that great fictional police officer exclusively like his last name "strictly on Fridays", its appropriate that Ed O'Neill Joe Friday quotes also be used. Its factual & accurate in terms of detail, thereIV, it is exactly what Jack would have wanted & the kind of proper acting & police procedure that Ed can still appreciate.

Detective Friday is today on the trail of a troubled youth who was coerced & forced with threats inII being part of a III (3) man robbery team with II brothers with long & violent criminal records, The III have just robbed a grocery store. The older II suspects having murdered the II store employees have ordered their young accomplice II murder the II owners tied up in the back. Not being a killer, the young man pretends to by heading II the back & instead fires II shots inII the ceiling. Detective Friday wants to extend the young man the same courtesy of not dying so that the case can be resolved quickly & in a more efficient matter bIV other murders can occur. As he explains to his partner Detective Frank Smith.:

"That young man risked his life to save II other people's lives. I didn't want him to die."
