The Assemblywomen-Maureen Kubinec, MLA

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin.
#6, 14504-108 Avenue
Edmonton, Alberta T5N 1G8

January XXXth, MMXV

Hon. Gordon Dirks, B. Ed., M. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education,
Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Elbow

Dear Gordon:

Now that she is in cabinet, the Hon. Maureen Kubinec, MLA has to add that already tough burden of trying to be as much of a legend in her riding than the previous occupant, former MLA, cabinet minister, & the best Speaker, the Alberta Legislature ever (no offense to Gene): the superb Ken Kowalski! Here Maureen strikes out on her own & talks about by stressing multilingual households & keeping both old family & new languages. The more languages a person knows, the better they will be able to adapt as a student in many cultures.

"The value & importance of preserving mother languages is vital to enhancing the vibrancy & diversity of our province. It is a way to connect us to our past, to highlight the traditions & customs of our parents & to preserve the cultural heritage of our ancestors."

Alta. Legislative Assembly Forty-Six,

Rory
