The "Premier"e League-Prince Edward Island

R. J. Koopmans, Ward G YEG Public School Board Trustee Byelection Candidate, Edmonton, Alberta

September XVIIIth, MMXV

Hon. Dave Eggen., B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

As we journey off to the land of Anne of Green Gables, we meet up with newly elected Premier Wade Maclauchlan of Prince Edward Island. Wade likes the idea of democratic renewal & reform as his province has high voter participation rates, while we in Alberta & other jurisdictions lag far behind. As far as Wade is concerned, getting Islanders involved in student voting will give them the desire to vote all their lives & pass it onto their kids. With the federal election on, we must not give up trying to engage youth & young adults to participate. As many Albertans thought your predecessors in power has been in power for way too long. As a result of this, the hunger for democratic renewal & improvements is powerful across The Dominion Of Canada!

"Electoral reform affects every Islander, & government is committed to gaining the broadest possible input on these important questions."

R. J.
