Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder
Dear Dave:
From Congresswoman Kathy Castor of Florida, a remark on the shortage of doctors being trained at Floridian medical schools. Certainly a situation we are facing in Alberta & many other jurisdictions are worldwide, especially when you consider many Albertans don't even have a family physician.
"Florida has about 20 medical residents per 100,000 residents, well below the national average of 37 medical residents per 100,000 residents. This has aided in creating a looming doctor shortage & if we don't begin to tackle this, especially with our state's growing population, our neighbors will soon find it very challenging to access a doctor."
Miami,
Rory

Health care is a big issue everywhere.
I agree
And I can include it here Colin as an educational comment since the Congresswoman uses "medical residents" & "doctors" in her quotation!
