People say there are a lot of useless civil servants who are overpaid (think Alberta Health Services & its expanding management & constantly dipping of patient care.) But former Edmonton-Glenora Liberal MLA Howard Sapers (the provincial riding I live in & thats looked after the very capable Hon. Sarah Hoffman, B. A., B. Bed., M. A., M. Ed., Deputy Premier & Minister of Health, New Democratic, Edmonton-Glenora currently), the Federal Correctional Investigator isn't one of them. After the loss of his dear wife in a car accident, Howard picked himself up, dusted himself off & moved to Ottawa for a fresh start for himself & his family. He delivers quality reports, he delivers a superb message, & he cuts through the crap to get things done & mistakes & errors reported honestly. Students looking to get in the civil service couldn't ask for a better example to follow.
