Dear Dave:
A historical lesson on Derek Fildebrandt, MLA, Independent-Conservative, Strathmore-Brooks & Leela Aheer, MLA, United Conservative Party (UCP), Chestermere-Rocky View.
1. There were rumours that Derek "lit quite the fire" in terms of harassing people & causing troubles as a youth in Ontario.
2. Leela "lights the fire" of music in the hearts of students & others who hear her sing & perform & with her positivity.
3. Number of scandals for Derek that can be counted:
a. Air BnB. b. Hit & run. c. Illegal trespass. d. Illegal deer kill. e. Lied to Jason Kenney.
- That is five scandals by my count.
4. Number of scandals for Leela that can be counted:
a. None.
- That is zero scandals by my count.
5. Derek says that Hon. Jason Kenney, PC, MLA, UCP, Calgary-Lougheed has no power to throw him out of the party & prevent him from running for the UCP nomination against Leela in the reconstituted riding of Chestermere-Strathmore for the upcoming MMXIX provincial writ. Pardon me Derek but it was Mister Jean & the Wildrose who first tossed you for your terrible behaviour. And under the UCP constitution, a party leader has the power to block anyone they see fit from running & signs their nomination papers. As Mr. Kenney holds that office & Derek lied to him over the hunting matters by not disclosing them, he has the right to say no to Derek running for the UCP anywhere.
6. Leela never lied to anyone, she fits in the UCP caucus very well, very well indeed. Leela acts in many capacities, is smart, intelligent, bright & appeals to women voters who appreciate that she is Deputy Leader. She works well with Mr. Kenney, she worked well with Interim Opposition Leaders of Her Majesty's Loyal Official Opposition, Jason Nixon, MLA, UCP, Rimbey-Rocky Mountain House-Sundre, & Nathan Cooper, MLA, UCP, Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills, & she worked well with Mr. Jean. There is no issues with her on any file like there is with Derek on many files.
7. Derek Fildebrandt has been offered a slot with the Alberta Party in order to increase their caucus to four members & official status. He has even met personally with Alberta Party Leader Stephen Mandel & Katherine O'Neill & Serena Mah & Kenny Chapman on several occasions. Now the Alberta Party approached Derek, they did not approach him. That being said, he took the meetings about betraying his grassroots that he supposedly admires so much.
8. Leela Aheer remained a "loyal friend & true" to the Wildrose cause & has been a solid performer for her entire first tenure as an MLA. She has stayed loyal to Leader Kenney & the reformatted UCP. She has never betrayed anyone.
9. Derek has done the impossible, he has become even more annoying than Rory J. Koopmans (yes this is scientifically possible.) Still he shook my hand graciously at the pro Trans Mountain pipeline rally at the Alberta Legislature because I give him credit when he's due it & no one else will (no one can say that I am unfair to Derek, I only analyze his scandal situations & commentate, no more, no less!)
10. Leela is amiable, smart, & actually listens to people in a professional manner, she doesn't shout them down like Derek.
Derek should run as an Independent Candidate if he wishes against Leela. Why would he risk a nasty nomination fight for a seat that Leela is guaranteed to win?!
