Hon. Dave Eggen B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder
Dear Dave:
I don't have any explanation as to how retarded it was for the Leader Of Her Majesty's Loyal Official Opposition The Hon. Jason Kenney, PC, MLA, UCP, Calgary-Lougheed to film the Independent MLA for Calgary-Greenway Prab Gill & his office dealings with New Democratic &/or Governmental staff such as Mr. Jeremy Nolais.
Furthermore, I would if I was elected or a staffer in the Legislature or one of its buildings such as the Federal Bvilding request that the Alberta Sheriffs (both Building Security & Executive Security departmental heads) in tandem with the rather superb Legislative Assembly team led by the amazingly outstanding Sergeant-At-Arms Brian Hodgson & his extremely capable number II Chris Caughell launch a full investigation into these matters. Whether or not the camera held by the UCP operator had approval to be in the building, let alone filming Mr. Gill's & his guests actions. It seems to me that filming should be limited to the exterior grounds outside buildings or in offices themselves, not in hallways & for the better adherence to the Privacy Act overall!
If I was in charge for the sake of Her Majesty's Security Services, & for the protection of both Her Majesty's Government, Her Majesty's Loyal Official Opposition & all MLAs & staff in the buildings, there is no god damned way in hell I would have allowed the UCP to film in that hallway without approval of at least II security staff or appropriate personnel in the Solicitor-General's, Protocol's, Speaker's, or Sergeant-At-Arms offices giving approval.
As for Mr. Gill's guilt or innocence in terms of ballot box stuffing I leave that up to The Courts. But he was found guilty in this matter by Judge Carruthers so both Mr. Kenney & Mr. Prab-Spenney are both somewhat shady here.
These II Men Should Have Far Greater Respect IV The Legislature Security Services Who Are Beyond Excellent To Say The Least,
Rory

Nice to see your writing again. I agree with you 100 percent. I wonder if the privacy ombudsman could be called upon to investigate.
I would be uncomfortable contacting the privacy ombudsman staff as i don't know them, go right ahead!
