"A House Divided Against Itself Cannot Stand!"-Ms. Sanchez

September XXXth, MMXVI

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

Congresswoman Linda Sanchez of California ends September for Executive Dissertations as the House Of Representatives ends its session today and goes back out on the campaign trail with a remark on the importance of school counselors. They are clearly needed to keep students focused on their studies & to help them have a great school/home life balance.

"My bill, the Put School Counselors Where They're Needed Act, would address this problem by providing funding for additional counselors in high schools with high drop-out rates."

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA

New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

While it makes sense that people's numbers are called out regularly via voice of the employees at employment centres, it can be quite irritating. Not just to families with children waiting for assistance, but to the worker's themselves. Especially on their throat as I know a couple who have laryngitis. One worker sounds like a herniated cat in pain by the end of the day & having to call the numbers out orally themselves takes away from their time in helping clients needing assistance. It would be better if there were numbers on the wall that just clicked over electronically with a recorded voice over top.

Jess You Seem To Have Left The Ethics Committee In Quite The Mess It Fills Albertans With Great Distress!

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., Vegreville Tim Hortons Courtesy Wifi, Vegreville, Alberta

September XXth, MMXVI

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

I do find it interesting that your caucus colleague Jessica Littlewood, MLA, New Democratic-Fort Saskatchewan-Vegreville as Chairwoman has made points in favour of Opposition motions but then still votes with her NDP caucus colleagues to break tie votes & shut these votes down. Thus causing these excellent ideas of the collective of the Ethics Committee to be bypassed when they would in fact enhance the effectiveness of the overall Committee & NDP Government policies. As a private citizen, I refuse to judge the overall effectiveness of Jess or that of her predecessor the Hon. Brandy Payne, MLA, Associate Minister of Health, New Democratic, Calgary-Acadia. But I can however judge the fact that I was personally sitting in meetings of the Ethics Committee twice this year & Jess stated she liked/was favourable of some aspects of Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition Committee members motions but then still voted them down. Isn't she as Chairwoman supposed to act as a neutral arbitrator & vote her conscience? Its not I point out to political science students as if the Hon. Rachel Notley, MLA, Premier, New Democratic, Edmonton-Strathcona & Her Majesty's Government would lose power if they lost an Ethics Committee vote. Perhaps make it like the Finance Committee/Treasury Board in this province that an Opposition member of the Alberta Legislature acts as Chair. This would make operations of the Committee run much more smoothly.

Don Mazankowski,

Rory

P.S.: Check the security logs of the Alberta Sheriffs (the finest security outfit in Alberta) at the front desk of the Federal Bvilding, they will show I signed in twice for Ethics Committee meetings at two different dates & got two different passes so this proves I actually saw the tie votes & the commentaries of Chairwoman Littlewood in person.

Of course students of political history all know that her greatest accomplishment was resigning as Premier! As for Donna, let us journey back in time to when she was in office so she can be compared to another Kennedy with a previous Executive Dissertations.

Dear Dave:

Somehow it seems rather fitting that Former Stampeders & Eskimos legend & Lt. Governor of Alberta Normie "The China Clipper" Kwong died on the very weekend that the two CFL teams have the first of their two clashes. Sad though that he never got to "be in the game" one more time & attend Monday's match at McMahon Stadium. Executive Dissertations said goodbye to Normie & thanked him for his service when he retired some six & a half years ago on Tuesday, May XIth, MMX (11th, 2010.) I strongly encourage Alberta students to read that post & respect that Normie was an even bigger football legend than the sainted Jackie Parker or even Premier Don Getty. "They're Looking At Me in GWG!"

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #6, 14504-108 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5N 1G8

September IInd, MMXVI

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

Exhibit One: We have Brian Jean, MLA, Wildrose, Fort McMurray-Conklin espousing in a joke format the "beating" of our Premier! This is completely unacceptable! I happen to like Rachel Notley, MLA, New Democratic, Edmonton-Strathcona very much because her late dad Grant had integrity & espoused socialism in a left-wing format, but in a gentlemanly way & as his legacy passed much of this on to his very good daughter Rachel. Its the height of hypocrisy for Brian to have made this statement. He's a lawyer & should know better & the only way for him to get out of this would be to apologize to Rachel & the Province in the Assembly Chamber during Members Statements on Alberta Hansard. Especially as he got after other folks for doing do during the Fort McMurray forest fire crisis at press conferences! Can you say credibility blown?!

Exhibit Two: Then we have Sandra Jansen, MLA, Progressive Conservative, Calgary-North West. She is a potential PC Leadership contestant for a party that is so ensconced in extremists & others who have siphoned off its respect & dignity that they have taken the away of  the average party voter to a vote by returning to a delegate system. Members like Parker Hogan & others believe that electing someone even more arrogant & even more of an asshole than Premier Jim Prentice will make their party better. I myself have received two phone calls from PC Party President Katherine O'Neill's office & numerous emails about rejoining PC Alberta & when I call back to say no, they keep asking. Katherine O'Neill cheated to win her nomination race in Edmonton-Meadowlark when we all know that Tom Choucair or Steve Benson would have been a far superior candidate. She's even more useless as President than her mother-in-law Mary O'Neill was a one term PC MLA in St. Albert. The fact that Sandy used to be the Southern Alberta Communications Director for Premier Alison Redford makes me think she shouldn't get this job either as the Redford allies & lackeys would be in operational of the party again. Plus it has an Interim Leader in Ric McIver, MLA, Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Hays who lied about cancelling the Sky Suite & who isn't being barred from running to replace himself & marches in parades with anti-gay groups. Plus ex-MLA's like Dave Coutts who has sent me numerous emails over the years but when I respond with an email back gets mad at me. He's just as useless & half past dead retired old fart as he was an MLA, even more so!

Exhibit Three: We carry on over to ex-MLA & "Pretty Boy" Thomas Lukaszuk. He might run a second time for PC Alberta Leader. Then is surprised over the dancing around over his leaked cellphone bills. Look no one wants to say it but it was the dead MLA & ex-Prentice Hatchet Man Manmeet Bhullar is the leaker & because he died his reputation is protected. Why, what harm can it do Manmeet now, he's dead?! This is a man who got into a shouting match with a Wildrose supporter at the man's door that almost came to shoving.

Exhibit Four: As for Jason Kenney, PC, MP, Conservative, Calgary-Midnapore, while hard working & industrious as an MP, he'd be better off staying in Ottawa as his constituents love how he pays attention to their needs. Of course of the bad lot of the bunch, Jason would bring the greatest dignity to being the potential XVIIIth Premier of Alberta. But he just doesn't seem like a people person.

None of these four should be the next leader of a "United Right." There has to be a fresh face.
