Progressive Conservative, Edmonton-Castledowns

Dear Thomas:

I was horrified when I heard of the two young students wearing headphones in Ontario & Alberta who were killed at railway tracks. This was b/c they had their headphones on & didn't hear the approaching trains & how bad must those conductors who killed the students must feel b/c through no fault of their own, they couldn't stop in time with the young men in front of them. Terrible carnage IV the II family's as well as they must bury very mangled remains.

We must make rules here in Alberta under the Education Act, as well as the Transport & Infrastructure Safety Acts that all persons wearing headphones must turn them off when approaching a track, &/or walking along one, or near one. When the CN/CP/Via railyards are moved once the City Centre Airport is redeveloped, we must ensure proper signage is placed at crossings warning students & others that they must have their headphones off when approaching railcars &/or tracks. This is an absolutely necessary step as their will undoubtedly be M's (1000's) of students moving inII the new development with their family's, both during the constructicon phase, & once its completed.

Bring Back Train Cabooses IV Safety As They Serve As An Extra Set Of Eyes,

Rory
