Old School Journalism

Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Athabasca-Sturgeon-RedH2O

Dear Jeff;

Proving the old adage that "II head are better than 1", The Edmonton Journal's Karen Kleiss & The Calgary Herald's Darcy Henton combined forces & resources to expose the fact that 145 foster kids have died in Alberta's foster system. Yes just like the failed & frankly retarded homeless shelter project in Terwillegar, this also makes Minister of Human Services David G. Hancock, QC, MLA, Progressive Conservative, Edmonton-Whitemud look bad. But I for one think that its good that these two fine newspapers even with constant cuts II their budgets & staffers are able to continue to hold Her Majesty's Government accountable on this issue. What's sad is the Journal & the Herald are only six day a week printed papers as this series of reports is beyond excellent & should win these two intrepid reporters awards. Even worse, 145 dead kids might not be the highest figure yet, so its "& counting!"

Emotionally Unsettling,

Rory
